The touch
The touch is a soft and soothing preliminary that allows to chase tensions and make
the body able to receive all the benefits of a massage session. It is also used at the end
from the session to calm the body. It also establishes a relationship of trust between
the masseur and the massager.
The touch consists of a movement
soft circular made with the palms of the hand
Principle
Thanks to this softness, this movement can
be practiced on all parts of the body.
Used for confidence at the beginning of the
massage session, it can also serve as a transition
between the different massage techniques. Indeed,
nothing better than a light and gentle touch to allow
the body to regain its calm at the end of the
massage
Application modality
It should only be applied to clean and healthy skin. The masseur can choose
a bare hand application or use gloves specially designed for massage.
It takes approximately one to two minutes per area of operation and varies in frequency
depending on the change of position of the club.
The manipulations must remain light, a more intense application risks, indeed, to cause
trauma in patients with low physical tolerance
The friction
Friction is a massage technique performed with the fingertips. It consists of applying
on the massage area a more or less intense pressure depending on the desired effect. If the
touch has not
effect that at the level of the epidermis, the friction allows to act through the different
layers of skin.
This in-depth action also offers the ability to act at the level of muscles and
joints as well as optimize blood and lymphatic flows.
In practice
In practice, friction uses a little more pressure compared to touching.
When applied, the massager applies firm pressure using the tip of its
thumbs.
Under the intensity of it, the skin moves on the surface and the
muscular nodes are untied
in depth. For well-muscled areas, the pressure of the thumbs is
insufficient. In this case, the masseur can use his fists for more
efficiency.
In addition, the movements must be circular: the massager moves
back and forth within a radius of about 3 cm, gradually spreading
over the treatment area. When applied, part of the skin moves as the
massager’s hands move; it is through this movement that friction can
mobilize the fascias, the
tendons, ligaments and, of course, muAll like other massage techniques, friction can not be
performed in case:
• bruising;
• edema or skin inflammation;
• of skin infection;
• redness of the skin;
• intolerance to frictionscles.
Regular friction with proper exercise is also indicated
to melt the lipid tissue
Kneading
Performed just after friction or
brushing, the kneading can act
superficially or in depth. It is an
effective solution for the drainage of
accumulated fat as well as for the
stimulation of blood and lymphatic
flows.
Its application allows to move the
fleshy parts inside the skin surface by
delocalizing the fats and eliminating
the toxins.
Principle
Kneading has its roots in the verb «kneading», since this movement has been
used mainly for
the preparation of pasta
