2.18.1 Removal of the Shift Controller


Remove as follows:
Show/Hide Checkboxes

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and set the parking brake.
Chock the tires.
2. Disconnect the batteries at the negative post, including the batteries for the auxiliary
HVAC, if equipped.
3. Remove the transmission. For instructions, Refer to section "Removal of the
Transmission" .

4. Remove the air pressure sensor harness connector (4).


5. Remove the oil temperature sensor harness connector (5).
6. Remove the air pressure adapter assembly from the shift controller housing (6).
7. Disconnect the air harness from the shift controller.
8. Unscrew the bolts that attach the shift controller to the transmission.
9. Remove the shift controller, first by pulling it out far enough to free it from the
alignment dowels, then lifting it up until the gate actuator is unhooked, then out to clear
the gear shift mechanism.
