CENTRAL BATTERY EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEM

The tower X1 has 5 nos. of Central Battery Emergency Lighting Panel (CBELP) ( Location
Main Panel 1 – Intermediate floor Battery room and its sub panel on level 10 Main panel 2
– MM floor elect room and its sub panel on level 18)

The tower X3 has 5 nos. of Central Battery Emergency Lighting Panel (CBEL) (Location :
Main panel 1 – Intermediate floor battery room and its sub panel on – level 7 & 16, Main
panel 2 – MM floor elect room and its sub panel on level 25)

Podium & car park area emergency lights are fed from respective tower main pane.
All the CBELP are networked and connected to Main PC. This is located at level 2 BMS
room. The status of the lights and the Batteries can be monitored from the main PC.
Following is the general description of the CEAG System.

Each emergency supply panels as manufactured by CEAG are used for supply, automatic
testing and monitoring of escape route, EXIT and safety luminaries. Panels are
distributed on the building based on the security zone/floors to keep the distribution
simple and to provide maximum safety and reliability.

Input Voltage : 230/240 V AC

Output mains : 230 V AC
Output Emergency : 220 V DC

ZB-S Central Battery System

MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL DIVISION

All panels are with electrical modules of easy to service modular design. Each panel will
have maintenance free sealed 18 nos. 12V lead acid gas recombination battery connected
in series, control and charger module and 23A/GA microprocessor controlled SKU
changeover modules. As well as providing a dependable supply of power (230 V
AC/220V DC) to safety and exit luminaries, the ZB-S automatically tests the system and
individually monitors each CG-S luminare (up to 20 per circuit), and it does all this using
the power supply cable only. The number of changeovers modules and configuration are
as per the loading requirements and the number of circuits in the area. All the modules
are plug-in-type and are no load and short circuit protected with independent fuses for
mains and battery supply and will have LED type status indicator.

Each panel will have a freely programmable control modules with nonvolatile program
memory and large LCD display that monitors and controls the central battery system it
automatically tests all the functions of the devices and emergency luminaries that are
connected to it and reports any faults that occur.

All right fixtures are fitted with addressable HF electronic ballast which have address
from 1 to 20. The maximum number of the light fixtures are listed in the control module
of each panel as well as the central monitoring unit. Power failure on normal lighting
circuits in each area is monitored using sub circuit monitoring modules mounted in the
panel. The switching modes of each of the safety and exit luminaries with the system
independent electronic ballast or monitoring modules can be programmed as required in
the control module of the central battery system. No additional cable to the luminare is
required.
The above type of panels are located in the various electrical rooms and are connected to
EM and Exit light fittings in the corridor, stair cases and service areas.

CENTRAL MONITORING DEVICE

The central monitoring is done by using a standard PC with Windows 2000 or Windows
XP Professional operating system and CG vision monitoring and programming software.
It allows retrieval of detailed system information with one bus line.
The CG-S bus technology provides continuous presence of the current operating status of
all connected system with continuous display of the last 5 event.
Special features are:

 As many as 480 emergency lighting devices can be monitored and programmed.

 Emergency luminaries can be turned off in CG vision via star technology.
 Programmable external LON switches on circuits.
 User can enter his own texts, e.g. for the location labeling.
 Localized fault messages for each emergency light circuit and safety/exit
luminaries, giving location in plain text.
 Continuous update of information about charger and battery.
 Storage and retrieval of all test log data over a period of at least 2 years.
 Additional data storage on external magnetic media is possible at any time.
 User programmable function and operation duration test.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS

MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL DIVISION

The system and its related components are manufactured by CEAG.

The main system components are;

CHARGER LT 2.5

The charger is designed for charging the lead storage batteries. The charging current is
2.5A. the charges is mounted on the BUS rack by means of two quick fixing facilities. On
the BUS rack by means of two quick fixing facilities. On the front plate of the charger is a
6.3 AT mains fuse and a 3.15 AT battery fuse.

CONTROL MODULE

The control module is used for monitoring and programming the central battery system
ZB-S and its substations. For his purpose the control module features various signal and
actuating elements. Any changes in status are shown via a 4 line display, light emitting
diodes and potential contacts.

DC/DC Transducer

This subassembly supplies converts the 220V DC battery voltage to 24V DC and 6V DC to
supply the modules and processor.

The SKU 2XA module contains 2 circuits each for 3A load. The SKU 1X6A module
contains 1 circuit for 6A load. On the front of the circuit change over module are two
outgoing fuse. All terminals are “plug in type”, push to fix the conductor. They can be
taken off the module for ease of installation. The plug-in terminals are for 2.5 sq.mm
conductors.

BATTERY BLOCKS

Sealed lead acid battery providing 3 hours back up in the event of power failure.
