14. Topics

14.1 Meeting feedback survey

At its meeting in February 2013, the ISO/TMB decided that circulation of a
meeting survey during each committee meeting is mandatory in order to offer
participants the option of giving feedback (TMB resolution 26/2013).
Participants shall complete this short survey (17 questions) within two weeks
after closure of the meeting. The feedback is collected by the Central
Secretariat and sent to the Secretary and the Chairman of ISOTC17/SC17.

14.2 Single foreword to use in all ISO deliverables

During the process of WD text drafting, please note that ISO uses now a single
foreword whatever the type of the ISO deliverables. You are kindly to take the
file (see annex A) into account in drafting.

14.3 Dealing with aging standards

3/7
The status of standards’ age under ISO/TC17/SC15 is as follows(Table 1), from
it we could see that the aging standard is a big problem in SC15. Dealing with
the aging standard is a key issue in SC15.

According to the latest ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1(Fourth edition,2013), there

are 2 efficient ways to initiate the revision standards:
1) Proposal stage (2.3.1)
NEW: Form 4 not required providing that the committee passes a resolution
including:
---- target dates;
---- confirmation of the scope (including whether it will be expanded, in
which case the process for new proposals applies);
---- convenor or project leader;
and the committee must launch a call for experts.
2) Maintenance stage (2.9.3.2)
NEW: If a simple majority of the P members consider there is a need for
revision/amendment, item may be registered at 10.99. A Call for experts must
be launched, but there is no minimum requirement of experts.

Annex A Single foreword to use in all ISO deliverables

Single foreword for ISO publications - for everything other than documents
done with other organizations

Foreword

ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of

national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International
Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body
interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right
to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-
governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with
the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical
standardization.

The procedures used to develop this document and those intended for its further
maintenance are described in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1. In particular the different
approval criteria needed for the different types of ISO documents should be noted. This
document was drafted in accordance with the editorial rules of the ISO/IEC Directives,
Part 2 (see www.iso.org/directives).

Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be
the subject of patent rights. ISO shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such
patent rights. Details of any patent rights identified during the development of the
document will be in the Introduction and/or on the ISO list of patent declarations received
(see www.iso.org/patents).
