I. Answer the following questions. 5 x 2 = 10M

1. If the cost of 65 tea packets of same size is ₹2600, what is the cost of 75 such
packets?
2. A tank can be filled by 5 pipes in 80 minutes. How long it will take to fill the
tank by 8 pipes of same size?
3. The marked price of a ceiling fan is ₹1600 and shop keeper allow a discount
of 6% on it. Find its selling price.
4. Find amount and compound interest on ₹8000 for 2 years at 5% per annum
compounded annually.
5. The cost of a chair is ₹1200. The GST charged was 5%. Find the bill amount.

II. Answer the following questions. 4 x 3 = 12M

1. 10 men can lay a road of 75km long in 5 days. In how many days can 15 men
lay a road of 45km long?
2. A loaded truck travels 14km in 20 minutes. If the speed remains the same,
i) how far can it travel in 5 hours?
ii) Find the time required to cover distance of 130km
3. A bank charges at the rate of 11.2% per annum. Ramu borrowed ₹6600 from
the bank and paid back ₹10296 after a certain time. For how much time (in
years) did he barrow the money from the bank?
4. The population of a village is 6250. It is found that the rate of increase in
population is 8% per annum. Find the population after 2 years.

III. Answer any two from the following questions. 2 x 4 = 8M

1. A shop keeper sold two TV sets at ₹9900 each. He gains 10% on one table
and on the other he loses 10%. Find his gain or loss percentage on the whole
transaction.
2. Bharathi borrows an amount ₹12500 at 12% per annum for 3 years at a simple
interest and Madhuri borrows the same amount for the same time period at
10% per annum, compounded annually. Who pays more interest and by how
much?
3. Venu purchased 50 dozen bananas for ₹1250. He incurred transportation
charges of ₹250. He could not sell five dozen bananas as they were spoiled.
He sold the remaining bananas at ₹35 for each dozen. Will he get a profit or a
loss? Find profit or loss percentage?
