Inquiry Project (30%)

Instructions:
The final for this class is a matter of pulling together the bits and pieces you will have been
working on throughout the course. You will create a project that details an issue you would like
to address within your internship classroom and future teaching and how you discovered
something about that issue by studying your teaching practice.

Required Components:
Due by 5PM April 22nd in Canvas

Introduction

This section should span 1-2 pages and include the following:

*A description of the project, the central research question(s), and why the project is personally
valuable and interesting to you.
*The purpose of the study including what you did and how you did it (in a succinct form, to be
elaborated upon in later sections).

Literature Review

This section should span 3-4 pages and include the following:

*A section detailing the relevant literature on your chosen topic and the relationship of the
inquiry project to that literature (the relevant literature are the readings you compiled in your
annotated bibliography). Think of this section as introducing the reader to the set of issues your
project addresses and what is known about those issues already.

*Definitions of any key terms you will use in the paper

Methodology

This section should span 2-3 pages and include the following:

*A description of the research methods, including research questions

*A description of the intervention or innovation (when applicable)
*Description of participants (for example, middle school students in a civics class)
*Data generation instruments
*Description of how you analyzed your data

Findings

This section should span 2-3 pages and include the following:
*What your data analysis revealed about your chosen inquiry topics.
*What you learned from data generation about your pedagogy.
* Potential implications from your findings (this might include best practices for teaching, need
for more research in particular area, need for professional development on a particular topic)

Summary of Requirements:
Address all aspects of the assignment prompt.
Your paper should not exceed 3000 words (approximately twelve pages), and at the conclusion
should include the word count in parentheses.
Your reference list should follow the narrative sections of your Inquiry project and be submitted
in the same file.
Please note that your reference list does not count toward the 3000-word limit.
The entire document should be formatted in APA 7th edition, with double-line spacing and 12-
point font.

Submit your Inquiry Project to Canvas by 5PM on April 22nd.

Please submit your file as a .docx or .pdf.
