E. NARRATIVE
On January 6, 2021 , in response to the unfolding situation at the US Capitol, oncoming Sixth District evening shift units were assembled into an ad-hoc
CDU Platoon (CDU 65) and deployed to the US Capitol. Upon arrival, they were assisting with VIP extractions on various floors. United States
Capitol Police then needed assistance with a mass of rioters who were attempting to breach an area referred to as the "platform" to gain access into the
!United States Capitol. Once in position the platoon was directed to assist with the crowd control near the "platform area" which was near a narrow
corridor.

Puring the deployment, members of the crowd attempted to breach the police line with force by assaulting law enforcement officers in the following
manner swinging flagpoles, throwing objects (bricks and rocks), and deploying chemical irritants. While holding the line and attempting to repel
attackers, Officer Sajumon conducted a takedown and deployed ASP Strikes, Straight Strikes, Knee Strikes and Elbow Strikes. Officer Bryan Lligoi
~tilized Hand Controls and deployed Straight Strikes. Officer Brayden Dyer deployed Baton Strikes. Officer Blake Miller conducted a Take Down and
kleployed Baton Strikes. Officer Travis Johnson deployed Baton Strikes. Officer Aaron Hunter deployed OC Spray and Baton Strikes. Officer Epshane
~orter deployed OC Spray and Baton Strikes. Sergeant Derek Washington deployed OC Spray, Baton Strikes and Straight Strikes. Officers were
successful in repelling the individuals attempting to break through the line. However, the individuals in question were able to return to the crowd and
avoid identification or apprehension. CCN# 21025555
