FUNCTIONAL TEST PROCEDURE

NOTE: If during any step of the functional test procedure, a failed step is observed,
notification to the Instrumentation Engineer is required to ensure item is investigated and
properly retested

Sl.No. Activity Description Confirmed Remarks

1.0 Prior to performing the test , check LP drum water □
level higher than low water level and lube oil
pressure is more than 1.5 bar
2.0 Put Feedwater pump group control „MANUAL‟ and □
initiate a manual start of the pump (LAC50/60AP001)
3.0 Simulate the LP drum water level low low signal and □
observe auto stop of pump (LAC50/60AP001).
Record the data and remove LP drum level signal.
Restart pump
4.0 Insert “close‟ command for the pump discharge MOV □
(LAB50/55AA041) and inter stage tap off isolation
valve (LAB20/25AA041). Observe auto stop of pump
(LAC50/60AP001). Record the data and remove LP
drum level signal. Restart pump
5.0 Insert the signal for DP across the pump suction strai □
ner (LAB10/15CP201) of 0.2 bar. Observe the pump
suction strainer DP high high alarm at DCS. Record t
he data and remove the signal.
6.0 Insert signal for simulating the pump shaft □
vibration relay output as 80 μm. Observe the
“pump bearing vibration High” alarm at DCS.
Record the data.
7.0 Insert signal for simulating the pump shaft □
vibration relay output as 120 μm. Observe “pump
trip” & “pump bearing vibration High High” alarm at
DCS. Record the data and remove the signal.
8.0 Insert signal for simulating the pump motor shaft □
vibration relay output as 170 μm. Observe the
“pump shaft vibration High” alarm at DCS. Record
the data.
9.0 Insert signal for simulating the pump motor shaft □
vibration relay output as 245 μm. Observe the
“pump trip” & “pump shaft vibration High High”
alarm at DCS. Record the data and remove the
signal
10.0 Insert signal for simulating the pump bearing □
temperature transmitter for temperature of 87ºC.
Observe “Pump bearing temperature High” alarm
at DCS. Record the data
11.0 Insert signal for simulating the pump bearing □
temperature transmitter for temperature of 95ºC.
Observe “pump trip”&“Pump bearing temperature
High-High” alarm at DCS. Record the data and
