PART 1
EXPLAINATION
EXPLAINATION

1) In an ecosystem, energy is transferred from

one organism to another. This transfer happens
in network of food which eventually leads to the
nutrients being returned to the environment by
the decomposer to be reused.
EXPLAINATION

2) This cycle is called the nutrient cycle which is

the cycle of non-organic chemical elements
including mineral sources in the soil, water,
oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon
dioxide.
PART 2
WATER CYCLE
The role of living things in the
water cycle

1) Plants need water for photosynthesis. Roots of

plants absorb water from the soil. Plants will release
the water back to the astmosphere through
transpiration. Transpiration increases the content of
water vapour in the air.

2) Roots of plants grip the soil and make it compact.

This causes the water flow in the soil to be slow.

3) Forests that are filled with plants form a water

catchment area. Leaves of the trees that fall and
layer the surface of the soil will lower the rate of
water evaporation by the Sun.

4) Animals and humans also need water to live. Apart

from being used to drink, some animals soak in water
to cool their bodies. Animals and humans return water
to the environment through unrination, respiration,
and perspiration processes.
PART 3
CARBON & OXYGEN
CYCLE
1) Green plants absorb carbon dioxide
and release oxygen during
photosynthesis.

2) During respiration, plants and

animals use oxygen and release
carbon dioxide.

3) Fungus and bacteria use oxygen

The role of living and release carbon dioxide during the
decomposition of dead organisms.
things in the carbon
4)Green plants maintain the content
and oxygen cycle of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the
air through photosynthesis.
