BARKADA KONTRA DROGA (BKD)
PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. TITLE: SCHOOL-BASED ORIENTATION FOR BARKADA KONTRA DROGA PROGRAM

II. TARGET AND NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: The target of this project or the participants are the
students from General Luna National High School. The number of participants is 321 students, the whole of
the General Luna National High School population.
III. PROPOSED DATE: June 13, 2022
IV. PROPOSED VENUE/PLATFORM: General Luna National High School
V. FUNDING SOURCE: MOOE and others
VI. PROPOSED BUDGET: The proposed budget for this project is 300 Php- 500 Php. It will use to buy
the necessary things that will need in the orientation

VIII. RATIONALE:

Pursuant to the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No.5, s.2007 entitled Institutionalizing the
Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Program, Section 5. Program Components particularly Phase III-
Implementation of PPAs and Phase IV- Monitoring and Evaluation, the Schools Division of Quezon
through the School Governance and Operations Division- Youth Formation Section advises all public
secondary schools of the BKD One School One Project for School Year 2021-2022.
Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) is designed as a preventive education and information program to
counter the dangers and disastrous effects of drug abuse and other activities that may help the community.
Through the implementation of this project, the students will raise their awareness about the cause and effects
of involvement in drug-related activities. With the program, the students learned the refusal skills that will
help them to strongly say no to harmful activities when they encounter these situations in the community.
IX. OBJECTIVES:

TERMINAL OBJECTIVES:
The project aims to establish a Barkada Kontra Droga movement and to promote learners; empowerment in
leading a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

ENABLING OBJECTIVES:
1. To increase Drug Awareness among students.
2. To educate and disseminate facts and information on the effects of illegal drugs
3. To train students in advocating a healthy and productive drug-free lifestyle.
X. KEY CONTENT AND METHODOLOGY:

Drugs and crimes are related in many ways. Illegal drugs have greatly affected Filipino society and
have destroyed lives and families. It costs less than a quarter to get high on meth. Illegal drugs are a source of
livelihood for many poor households. At least 65% of inmates accused/convicted have committed crimes
related to drugs. This program discusses some information about drug-related activities and the refusal skills
that the students will need to know to have an awareness and have a drug-free lifestyle.

XI. EXPECTED OUTPUT:

After the orientation, the students will have an awareness of drugs, the cause and effects of using
them, and what they will do if someone is using drugs. They can also educate other people about what they
have learned. They can volunteer their time with the local organizations about drugs and alcohol abuse
prevention and treatment.
