Cyber and Fraud Protect Officers are at the forefront of the national strategy ‘protect’, producing
national information and intelligence products, providing a UK wide networked capability for
cyber advice and presenting outputs to audiences from the public to key stakeholders.
As a civilian Cyber Protect Officer, you would be responsible for turning intelligence from the
National Fraud Intelligence Bureau and our partner agencies into consumer-friendly outputs and
providing specialist support at events and through direct presentation.
Working with the public and private sector, as well as international partners, you will play a
critical role in spreading the understanding that cybercrime is rapidly taking over from
‘traditional’ crime types.
We’re looking for individuals with high levels of enthusiasm and energy, who can thrive in an
ever-changing environment where timeliness of communication and engagement with partners
and colleagues is vital.

activities and who want to help protect our communities from the ever increasing and complex
threat of cybercrime.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the delivery of the National Cyber Protect strategy, ensuring crime prevention
initiatives are aligned with stakeholder plans.
Selection Criteria
Skills
Ability to work in an ever-changing and dynamic environment, responding positively and
cooperatively to change and conflicting demands.
Good analytical and research skills to evaluate information and provide meaningful
recommendations to assist law enforcement and industry in prevention activities.
Excellent verbal and presentation skills, adjusting communication style to suit different
audiences.
Good written communication skills to convey key information in a clear and auditable
fashion to different audiences to inform their decision making.
Able to work creatively and innovatively, finding new ways to present material and
achieve success within the prevention landscape.
Knowledge
Excellent knowledge of fraud/cyber trends and threat affecting the UK.
Excellent knowledge of crime prevention practices and strategies within the current
landscape.
Evidence of a strong commitment to continual learning and new approaches within the
fraud/cyber environment.
Experience
Experience of working with Public and Private sector partnerships, preferably in a crime
prevention context.
Experience of using relationships with stakeholders to influence decision making and
align focus in keeping with your own strategy.
Full knowledge and understanding of relevant stakeholder / law enforcement
relationships and ability to influence.
