The GEHO® piston diaphragm pump gives you superior reliability and,
availability rates with minimum maintenance and spare parts requirements. • Pipeline length: 1 km to 550 km

Our experience obtained from more than 200 installations on long distance
ore concentrate pipeline applications, as well as more than 1500 installations Benefits
in other high pressure abrasive slurry pumping applications is used to • Low energy consumption
continuously upgrade the design of the GEHO® piston diaphragm pump.
• High availability
• The first ore concentrate pipeline with GEHO® PD pumps installed in 1983 in • Low maintenance costs
Russia is still in operation.
• Low spare parts costs: check
valves are the only moving parts
• Since 1983 more than 53 ore concentrate pipelines have been installed with
in contact with the abrasive
GEHO® PD pumps, some under the most extreme conditions.
slurry
• The world’s first phosphate slurry pipeline has GEHO® pumps in operation. • No piston flushing required, so
no slurry dilution
• Across the globe more than 90% of the long distance slurry pipelines have

• 171 triplex single-acting piston diaphragm pumps, model TZPM
• 32 duplex double-acting piston diaphragm pumps, model ZPM

• The world’s first long distance bauxite slurry pipeline (245 km) in Brazil
operates with GEHO® pumps.

• All multiple iron ore pump stations worldwide operate with GEHO® pumps.

• All high pressure slurry pipelines worldwide operate with GEHO® pumps.

• Experience includes many different ore types, ranging from iron ore to
bauxite, phosphate and shell sands.
Value for money
Weir Minerals Netherlands has established itself as the technological leader in
high pressure, crankshaft driven, piston diaphragm and hydraulically driven
piston pumps, under the brand name GEHO®. These pumps are currently serving
a wide variety of applications in the mining, mineral processing and pipeline
transportation industries across the globe.

Weir Minerals has been working with the industry to make slurry pipeline
operations reliable and economical. A slurry pipeline is an efficient means
of transporting solids safely, silently and reliably over long distances. It is a
proven, environmentally safe technology and a viable alternative to rail and truck
hauling.

Under certain climatic and terrain conditions there is no alternative to a pipeline.

Where dictated by the environment, slurry pipelines can be buried along
the entire route and below the frost line. A pipeline does not lead to traffic
congestion or create hazards. Pre-construction surface activities can resume
after the pipeline is in place; such as farmers being able to raise crops and
livestock, just as they did prior to pipeline construction. Monitoring technology
that virtually eliminates the possibility of spills is a further advantage of
pipelines.

Pipeline economics dictate that the slurry is highly concentrated and that it
should subsequently be pumped by means of positive displacement pumps.

nineteen eighties, plunger and piston pumps were installed. The GEHO® pump
