1 Lead acid battery sizing and cell selection shall be based on IEE – 485

Continous loads & burden value shall be considered as per load list received
from respective vendor if avavailable or it will be taken form releavant previous

projects (For exam ple: Relay loads, indication lamps, lighting loads, continiously
opreated motors if any)

Non Continous loads & burden value shall be considered as per load list
received from respective vendor if avavailable or it will be taken form releavant

previous projects (For exam ple: Emergency operated motors and fire
protections actuations if applicable etc.. )

Momentary loads & burden value shall be considered as per load list received
from respective vendor if avavailable or it will be taken form releavant previous

projects (For exam ple: Breaker trip and close coil, Relay pickup loads,motor
stating currents, isolating switch operations & Spring charge motors etc. )

No of cells shall be designed either as per standard or consider as per contract

specification if specified.
End cell voltage shall becalculated either as per standard or consider as per

contract specification if specified.

7 Battery duty cycles shall be tabuleted based on the points listed 2,3,4 in ablve

Battery duty cycle diagram or load curve shall be drawn based on the results

what we get from the duty cycle tabulation

9 Cell sizng work sheet should be performed as per standard

10 K – Factor to be taken from battery manufacturer catelougue

Temperature correction factor should be considered as per vendor

recommendation
Design margin shall becalculated either as per standard or consider as per

contract specification if specified. (as per std 15%)

Aging margin shall becalculated either as per standard or consider as per

contract specification if specified. (for example as per std that is 1.25)

Battery capcacity should be determined by product of highest positive value

14 arraived from cell woking shhet, temperature correction factor, aging margin &
desing margin

Continious loads & tricle charge value refered from battery vendor catalouge
15 shall be taken for size the float charger . Also Highest motor stating current shall
also be taken in float charger sizing if it is required by customer

23 All tentative / hold points and client's comments to be checked during revision

24 Document numbers and revisions shall be as per the document schedule

25 All revised points of SLD shall be clouded with revision marked.

26 Title block shall be as per project requirement.
