For the duration of this spell, no sound can be

created within or pass through a 20-foot-radius
sphere centered on a point you choose within
range. When you cast this spell, select a single
target. This creature is immune to the silencing
effect and is the only thing that can create or emit
sound inside of the area of effect. Any creature
or object entirely inside the sphere is immune to
thunder damage, and all creatures other than the
one made immune to this spell effect are deafened
while entirely inside it. Casting a spell that includes
a verbal component is impossible there.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using

a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you may select
one additional creature to become immune to the
silencing effect for every two spell slots over 3rd
level.
