Aims and Objectives
The focus of this lab was to start and finish with the first review assignment for Microsoft
Access. Since this lab was the first to work on Microsoft Access, most of the work was to get
familiar with the Microsoft Access application and its interface. The work includes some
features, but without going into depth about access. This report is intended to explain more.
Lab Achievement
I was successful in completing the task of this lab, which is the module one review
assignment for Microsoft Access. This week’s lab task includes creating a blank database,
creating tables, assigning a primary key, understanding different datatypes, implementing
simple queries, creating a form or report, manipulating print view, and compacting and
repairing a database.
Self-Learning
After implementing the lab work, I had the opportunity to explore the internet for tips that
would help understand Access better and make working on it more effective. For example,
using validation will help protect the integrity of data. In addition, table properties such as
order by and sub datasheet (Laurie A. Ulrich, n.d).
Conclusion
In essence, this lab was the first to work on Microsoft Access, and it includes completing
module one review assignment that help us practice different Access skills, such as creating
forms, simple queries, and reports for certain tables. Another thing was creating a table
with a primary key and adding fields to it. The last thing was compacting and repairing a
database.
Feedback
In the end, it was a good start for the last Microsoft application of this course. Lastly, the lab
difficulty was moderate.
