Founding and Early Years (1963-1970): BCG was established in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1963 by
Bruce D. Henderson, a former Vice President at the management consulting firm Arthur D. Little.

prioritize investments among different business units based on their growth potential and market
share.

offices in Europe, Asia, and other regions. The firm's international presence allowed it to work with

CONCLUSION:
The BCG Matrix is one of the most popular portfolio analysis methods. It classifies a firm's
product and/or services into a two-by-two matrix. Consider Pursuing Relevant Education and
Experience: BCG values diverse educational backgrounds and experiences. While a degree in
business or a related field may be helpful, they also appreciate candidates with expertise in areas
like data science, engineering, or technology. Demonstrating a strong track record of leadership,
analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities is essential. Each quadrant is classified as low or
high performance, depending on the relative market share and market growth rate.Cash cows
have low growth but high market share and as such generate large cash flows to be invested in
question marks, to turn them in stars, that over time will become cash cows, and trigger again this
positive loop The BCG matrix can be usefully deployed to assess a product's potential growth rate
within its industry versus its relative market share to help develop long-term strategic marketing
plans that aim to maximize profit.
