A) What's Around?

With our location being in Mississauga, we have a variety of amenities & places to eat around
us!

Places to Eat Around Campus:

There is a cafeteria inside the Creekbank building, however if you are looking for a place to eat
outside of campus, please see this list below:

B) Parking

The Creekbank building has plenty of parking available! Students are able to park either in the
front or back parking lot, free of charge!

C) Your Student ID Cards

Your Student ID card will help identify you as an AU student! You can also use this card to
obtain student discounts! To obtain your Student ID card, visit the Student Portal to fill out the
form and upload a picture of yourself.

You will receive a Ready for Pickup email once your card is complete. You can pick up your card
in Suite 500 after you receive this email.

D) The Cafeteria
There is a cafeteria inside the Creekbank building with a variety of meal options to choose from!
The Caf sells meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as drinks, coffee/tea, and snacks.
Payment methods include: cash, debit and credit cards.

Within the cafeteria, there are microwaves available for use. Feel free to utilize the microwaves
for any home meals you bring with you!

There are also tables and chairs available for use during all opening hours of the building.
 E) Gym & Fitness Services
Algoma University partners with the YMCA to create and provide additional student experience
and ensure you have access to fitness facilities! As an AU student, you will receive a
membership to the YMCA.

The YMCA has many facilities from a fitness center with gym equipment, swimming pool, dance
studios, fitness classes, dance classes, and much more!

Obtaining your free membership:

Your free membership is valid every semester that you are enrolled in classes. To obtain your
membership, you will need to complete your registration and take a photo for your card.

The YMCA will be available at the Creekbank building to complete registrations on:

➔ Thursday, August 31st at the Orientation Kickoff

➔ Wednesday, September 6th from 9am - 4pm
➔ Thursday, September 7th from 9am - 4pm

If you are unable to attend any of these days, you will need to visit the YMCA Brampton (20
Union St.) to register your card. Once you’ve registered your card, you can use this card at any
YMCA in the GTA!

F) The Library

Mississauga Library is another valuable partner and resource for our students!
Students are able to use the Mississauga Library for their study spaces, free community
programming, printing services, rentals, and more!

The closest Library location to our building is the Burnhamthorpe Library at 3650 Dixie Rd
#101, Mississauga, ON L4Y 3V9.

G) Transit System in Mississauga

The Creekbank building is centrally located nearby many bus stops! To get to campus, you may
use any of the below transit systems:

➔ Mi-Way Transit
➔ Go Transit
➔ Zum

These local transit systems often have connections with other systems such as
Brampton Transit, York Region Transit, and Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).
Depending on where you are travelling from, there will be different options available to you.

Please use applications such as Rocketman, Google Maps, Moovit, and more to find out which
transit options are available for you between our Brampton campus and your place of residence.

Go Transit Student Discount

Algoma U students receive a student discount with GO Transit (all GO buses and GO trains).
The student discount saves our students 40% off regular prices through your PRESTO card!

H) Finding Housing

We are happy to help you get prepared for your new journey here in Mississauga!

Algoma University GTA does not offer any on-campus housing. As such, all our students find
and secure their accommodations through external organizations.

organizations below. We are simply providing the information for you to access if you wish to
pursue off-campus housing.
