26. Find the greatest number of six digits exactly divisible by 18, 24 and 36.
27. ƒ (x) = x³ - ax² + (a – 3) x + 6, where a is a non-zero real number. When ƒ(x) is divided by (x + 1)
there is no remainder.
If ƒ(x) is completely factorable, find the zeroes of ƒ(x). Show your stops.
28. a) In the figure, ABCDE is a pentagon with A
BE || CD and BC || DE. BC is perpendicular to CD.
AE = AB – 5 cm, BE = 7 cm, BC = x – y and B E

32. a) Seven times a two digit number is equal to four times the number obtained by reversing the
order of its digits. If the difference of the digits is 3, determine the number.

b) One says, Give me a hundred, friend! I shall then become twice as rich as you’. The other
replies, ‘If you give me ten, I shall be six times as rich a you’. Tell me what is the amount of their
(respective) capital?
33. In the given figure, ∠ACB = 90° and CD ⊥ AB, prove that CD² = BD × AD.
34. a) A right cylindrical container of radius 6 cm and height 15 cm
is full of ice-cream, which has to be distributed to 10 children
in equal cones having hemispherical shape on the top.
If the height of the conical portion is four times its base radius,
find the radius of the ice-cream cone.

The logo is designed in different geometrical shapes and different colours according to the theme. In
given figure, a circle with centre O is inscribed in a ∆ABC, such that it touches the sides AB, BC and
CA at points D, E and F respectively. The lengths of sides AB, BC and CA are 12 cm, 8 cm and
10 cm respectively.

37. Read the following text and answer the following questions:

Aryash starts walking from his house to office. Instead of going to the office directly, he goes to a
bank first, from there to his daughter's school and then reaches the office.
(Assume that all distances covered are in straight lines) If the house as situated at (2, 4), bank at
(5, 8), school at (13, 14) and office at (13, 26) and co-ordinates are in km.
