Dear Sir,
I am writing to express my enthusiastic interest in the position within your department, as
advertised. With a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering, coupled with a robust background in both
industry and academia, I am eager to bring my expertise to contribute significantly to your
research endeavors. The specific focus areas of sustainable mechanical design, and thermal
hydraulics systems resonate strongly with my professional and academic journey.
My doctoral research, conducted at the University of Melbourne, delved into experimental fluid
dynamics aimed to enhance the understanding of the turbulence of jets. This experience not only
provided me with a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles but also honed my
research skills, making me well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to your research initiatives.
In my professional journey, I have gained valuable industry experience through roles in different
industrial sectors such as renewable energies, thermal hydraulics, and control systems. These
experiences have allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, providing me
with a practical perspective that complements my academic background.
Furthermore, I bring complementary skills in computational modeling, having actively applied
techniques in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and computational methods. My professional
journey, spanning industrial roles, academic instruction, and pivotal research positions at
esteemed institutions, including the University of Melbourne and the University of Queensland,
has equipped me with a unique skill set in Renewable Energies, Automotive Technologies,
Experimental and Numerical Fluid Dynamics, 3D-3C velocimetry techniques, and Solid
Mechanics.
I am particularly drawn to the collaborative and forward-thinking environment at your
institution. My interdisciplinary approach to research, coupled with a keen interest in exploring
the intersections of different fields, aligns seamlessly with the ethos of your department.
My current role as a Lecturer at the University of West of England, Oman campus, has immersed
me in teaching a spectrum of mechanical engineering courses, particularly focused on thermos-
fluid engineering and mathematics. Alongside my teaching commitments, my primary research
delves into numerical and experimental thermo-fluid mechanics, with a distinct emphasis on the
innovative field of thermal desalination. Notably, my research centers on solar thermal
desalination employing novel low-pressure evaporation techniques, analyzing the influence of
water surface pressure on unit performance.
Furthermore, my success in securing substantial research grants, including three Oman
Government Research Grants, a Start-up Research Grant, and subsequent university research
grants, demonstrates my capacity to initiate and sustain impactful research endeavors. I am eager
to channel this expertise into a dynamic institution and contribute to ongoing and future research
initiatives.
I am excited about the prospect of contributing to and expanding your research portfolio. I look
forward to the opportunity to discuss how my qualifications and experiences align with the
specific needs of your department. Thank you for considering my application.

Here is the name and Email of my referees:

Prof. Ivan Marusic, imarusic@unimelb.edu.au
Prof. Kamel Hooman, K.Hooman@tudelft.nl
Dr. Pooyan Rahmanivahid, pooyan@gcet.edu.om
