VI. RATIONALE:

Enhancing literacy and numeracy skills among learners is imperative for several compelling
reasons. Firstly, these foundational skills serve as the bedrock for academic success across
various subjects, providing students with the tools to comprehend complex concepts and
express themselves effectively. Moreover, literacy and numeracy are not confined to the
classroom; they are indispensable for life-long learning and adaptability in a rapidly evolving
world. Strengthening these skills empowers individuals to engage with information,
technologies, and diverse perspectives, fostering a continuous learning mindset.
Additionally, literacy and numeracy play a pivotal role in social and economic participation,
enabling individuals to contribute meaningfully to their communities and navigate the
complexities of the modern workforce. Addressing educational inequities is another critical
aspect, as focusing on literacy and numeracy helps bridge achievement gaps, providing
equitable opportunities for learners from diverse backgrounds. Ultimately, literacy and
numeracy enhancement prepares learners for global citizenship, promoting effective
communication, critical thinking, and collaboration on a global scale. In essence, prioritizing
these foundational skills is not just an educational imperative but a holistic approach to
equipping learners with the tools they need to succeed academically, socially, and
economically in the 21st century..
