oWhen gartage is mibved with or contaminated by oher hamnful substances prohibited from discharge or having different discharge requirements, the more stingent requirements shall
apply.
O Comminuted or ground food wastes must be able to pass through a screen with mesh no larger than 25 mm.
OThe discharge of introduced avian products in the Antarcic area is not permitted uless incinerated, autoclaved or otherwise treated to be made sterile.
OOfshore platfoms located 12 nm from nearest land and associated ships include allixed or floating platfomns engaged in exploration or exploitation or associated processing of seabed
mineral resources, and all ships alongside or within 500 m of such platfoms.
Cargo residues means only those cargo residues that cannot be recovered using commonly available methods for unloading.
These substances must not be harmful to the marine environment.
OlnArctic waters, discharge of gartbageinto the sea pemited in accordance with regulation 4of MARPOLAnnex V. shall meet the additional requirements prescribed in secion 5.2.1.of
part ll-A of MEPC.264(68).
Olnthe Antarctic area. discharge of garbage into the sea penitted in accordance with requlation 6 of MARPOLAnnex V, shall meet the additional requirements prescribedin section
5.22 of part ll-A of MEPC.264(68).
