OCTOBER 2023

METHODOLOGY
Research Design

This study will use the descriptive-correlation research design. It is

descriptive because it will use descriptive statistics in presenting the variables of

the study such as frequency of mobile usage and impact of mobile usage on the

academic performance. Correlation research design will be used in determining

the relationship between frequency at which mobile phones are used and

academic performance in terms of General Weighted Average of the

respondents.

Locale of the Study

This study will be located at the St. Luke's Institute Incorporated, Kabacan,

Cotabato.

Respondents of the Study

The respondents of this study are the selected 100 senior high school

students of the St. Luke's Institute Incorporated during the Academic Year 2023-

2024.

Sampling Procedure
In this study, the researchers will use random stratified sampling in

selecting 100 students in senior high school department of school. In each

HUMSS strand, the researcher will choose 25 students for a total of 100 students

from HUMSS 11 and 12.

In conducting this study, the researchers will first ask permission from the

school principal. After the school principal’s approval, the researchers will

distribute the survey questionnaire to the teachers of St. Luke’s Institute

Incorporated. Next, the researcher will analyze the questionnaire using

descriptive-correlational research. Lastly, the researchers will interpret the

answers of the respondents as part of study.

Statistical Analysis

In this study, the researchers will use descriptive-correlational statistics.it

is descriptive because will be used to summarize the phone usage pattern with in

the sample including measures such as mean, mediam, mode, and standard

deviation it correlational analysis will them be conducted to examine the

relationship between phone usage variables. This analysis will determine if a

significant correlation exists between phone usage and age, gender, educational

level,or socioeconomic status
