Submission format Activity A

The submission format is in the form of a business Report. The report should be written
in a concise style. You are required to make use of headings, paragraphs, and
subsections as appropriate. All work must be supported with research and referenced
using the Harvard referencing system. You will need to provide a bibliography using the
Harvard referencing system. Inaccurate use of referencing may lead to issues of
plagiarism if not applied correctly.

Use the following format for your assignment:

 Use a cover page, Title Page, Contents’ page for the report.
 The main body of the report should be concise and formal academic style.
 Use 1.5 spacing and Times New Roman/ Arial font size 12.
 Use headings, paragraphs, and subsections as appropriate.
 Support your work with in-text citations, sources of statistics, and any kind of
information.
 Provide Conclusion, evaluation, and recommendation.
 Use Appendices (if any)
 Using the Harvard Referencing Style provide a list of references for all citations
and sources in the content of your assignment.
 Respect the word limit of, Section 1 (2000 words) and Section 2 (1500 words),
3,500 words in total (+/- 10%) excluding the cover page, contents page, list of
references and appendices, although you will not be penalised for exceeding the
total word limit.

Vocational scenario and Assignment activity (A)

You and some other business graduates have recently joined the HR department in a
reputable UK firm. To evaluate your skills and suitability for the Assistant HR Manager
position, you are given a trial period for the organisation to decide whether you are a
good fit. You will be employed subject to the satisfactory completion of this period. For
this purpose, you need to produce a report for the Board of Directors focusing on self-
knowledge, self-analysis, and how to apply the concepts, theories, and techniques of
organisational behaviour to create such an organisational culture and atmosphere that
engage the employees with their job and organisation resulting in enhanced
organisational performance.

As part of your assignment, you will: Assess, reflect, and challenge your own
personality.

You are to record what you do and use the information gathered to reflect on your
contribution, how you would adapt and make justified improvements for yourself, and in
creating an effective workforce. This reflective piece of writing is your first contribution to
that training, where you are allowed to use “I” and “me”. The reflective report should
include the following:

Introduction:

 Focusing on the topic, explain to your readers why the considerations around
organisational behaviours are so relevant within the current business

atmosphere. Include as many relevant and current aspects as you possibly can.

Personality:

 A brief overview of your chosen organisation’s existing culture, assess how your
personality would fit into it, and if it would positively or negatively affect
management approaches and company performance.
 In terms of adding value to the set-up of managerial relationships, reflect on your
personality and perceptions in terms of your own performance.

Perceptions:

 Critical evaluation of your own perceptions of the company's politics, power


distribution, motivational strategy, and communication with examples. How could
your personal traits and perspectives be adapted to the above organisational
factors in a way that would improve employee motivation and effectiveness?

Another part of your assignment and using motivational theories and their application,
you will apply, critically assess, and adapt personal perspectives, and will:

 Argue on the application of behavioural motivational theories and techniques, with


relevant examples. Make sure that your evaluation is reflective focusing on the
concepts and application of the models suitable for the chosen organisation.
 Critically assess how the implementation of content and process theories of
motivation impact the employees’ enhanced individual motivation and team
effectiveness.
 Justify how the adaptation of personal perspectives and attributes can impact
employees’ efficiency.

Submission format Activity B

For this part of the assignment, you need to create a PowerPoint format with 15 to 20
rich content slides along with the speaker notes that will be in the form of a group
presentation. You should form a group of 3 or 4, who will work together to complete this
task.

This must be prepared and presented in the class in the form of combined slides

in a way that each student presents for 5 to 10 minutes. The presentation will be
recorded either directly in the module or uploaded to the assignment of everyone.

This can be done by dragging and dropping the saved PPT into your write-up or
uploading it in your assignment (on the Insert menu of MS word, click Object and the
Create from File tab, Browse and Select your saved PPT and insert it).

As a prospected Assistant HR Manager, you have been asked to present the Power
point Presentation to explore different types of organisational teams, team dynamics,
and teamwork as well as examining the influence of power, politics, and culture,
examine, evaluate, and provide justified recommendations on teamwork, culture, and
efficiency within the organisation.

You need to contribute to the teamworking, explore the group behaviour, reflect on, and
revise personal contributions to effective teamworking, and make justified
recommendations for individual improvement, which include:

 Discussion and analysis of the individual’s contribution to teamwork using real-life


examples of various business situations.
 For the effective team working, identifying the importance of group behaviour and

team theory.
 An evaluation of your own contribution and how the above-mentioned theories
influence behaviours within teams shaping the dynamics for effective teamwork.

your chosen company and further evaluate the development of cooperation within
an effective team.
 Provide justified recommendations on using those effectively in terms of
achieving individual and organisational goals.
