The applicant chose to study medicine after receiving an improperly administered injection as a child that left a lasting scar and pain. They want to become an ethical doctor who listens to patients and improves health outcomes. As the first in their family to attend university, they have an excellent academic record but financial struggles mean outstanding fees prevent them from accessing their academic transcripts. I chose to study medicine because I really want - to make a positive
impact on people’s health and wellbeing . The reason being when i was 5 years I went to another Doctor when I was sick and he gave me an Injection in a not safe area. And he left a scar and I kept crying that it is too painful but he did it anyway , it took days for it to heal and even today I still see the scar everyday . From that day I vowed to myself that I am going to study medicine and become a doctor who is ethical , shows empathy and listens to the patient . Also Medicine is a field that requires ongoing education and I want to be committed to continuous lifelong learning as I will bee acquiring new knowledge and skills. I have a very strong academic record and I believe that I will excel in Medicine. I am the first person to study medicine at home and community so I will work hard To make them proud. I believe that by studying Medicine I will be able improve patients outcomes and provide the best quality healthcare possible. We are financially struggling at home especially with me studying at university and currently I don’t have an funding opportunities. I am raised by a single mother who who is the only one work in a family of 6 and my father estranged and is not providing for us in anyway. It is really hard studying without financial assistance because with Outstanding fees I can’t even access my academic scripts. I am really working hard and producing excellent results . If I were to receive this Bursary I will able to stay in university and pursue my medical degree therefore ultimately contribute to the medical community and society as a whole
