QUESTION: Summary of the book Education.

Education is the harmonious development of all the faculties, a full and adequate preparation of
this life and the future eternal life. True education is more than a pursue of a certain study for
Jesus Christ is the centre of all education. This means that without Jesus Christ we are nothing
because Christian education begins with Jesus Christ who is regarded as the greatest teacher who
came to do away with false teaching. Education started in the Garden of Eden where God was
the teacher, the Garden of Eden was the classroom, nature was the lesson book and its students
were Adam and Eve.

It is in the early years in the home and in the formal schoolwork that the mind develops, a pattern
of living is established and character is formed. When we acquire true education we will surely
be motivated as individuals to be ready to take our place as good people who are well prepared
for the practical experiences of living, fully developed physically, God fearing and hearts true to
principles.

Proper education is not only about mental discipline but that training which will secure sound
morals and correct behaviour. An education in which the hands are skilled in useful trades is
emphasized and an education which recognizes God as the source of all wisdom and
understanding is earnestly recommended.

Therefore, young people should be controlled by firm principles that they may rightly improve
the power which God has given them and live Christ like life, for Heaven is a school; its field of
study, the Universe; its teacher, the infinite one, who guides all His people into heavenly
classroom from the classroom of today’s earth. Just as a family is considered as a school and its
teacher are parents who are there to guide their children.
