REDI’S EXPERIMENT
Redi wanted to know if flies came from rotting meat. He
put meat in two jars, one covered and one open. Flies only
appeared on the open jar, showing that they came from
outside, not the meat, proving that living things don't come
from non-living things.

Why Microorganisms are considered

alive:
1. They can grow and change.
2. They need food (nutrients) and water to
produce energy to work.
3. They can reproduce.
4. They react to the stimuli of the environment.
5. Inside they are working as a System to be alive.

Classification of microorganisms:
1. Bacteria
2. Fungi
3. Algae
4. Protozoa

CELL DEFINITION:
Cells are the structural, functional, and
biological units of all living beings. A cell can
replicate itself independently. They are known
as the building blocks of life.
Each cell contains a fluid called the
cytoplasm. Cellular structures called cell
organelles are suspended in the cytoplasm.
