The main idea of the author is how serious water crises are and how
quickly they affect people.
2. What did the author try to tell us in the beginning of this novel ?
The author tried to tell us that water crises are troubling but they are not
trated as such by the media or by the politiacians in charge.
3. What did the Morrow family do after they saw the announcement on the
Television ? Explain your response quoting from the novel.
The Morrow family went outside with the neighbors after heaning the
announcements, “My parents, Garret and I gravitate outside as well, all
of us standing, strangely, looking at one another for some kind of
guidence, or at least a validation that their is actually happening.”
4. What happened to Alyssa at Costco? mention all the characters involved in the
problem and explain your response.
Alyssa couldn’t find any water when she got to Costco with her brother
and uncle Basil, after finding a case in the side aisle a woman look the
case from her and her daughter, Hali Hartling apologized but didn’t do
anything about it. After realizing she could take ice and let it melt Alyssa
filled their cart with ice but it was too heavy for them. Some man in a
business suit helped them push it but then tried to steal the ice but their
uncle Basil made him go away.
5. What did Kelton and Alyssa were talking about? give details of the conversation
and quote from the novel.
Alyssa and Kelton talked about sealing the drain so the water didn’t
escape, the Kelton talked about the tanks of water his family props for
thinking ahead Kelton responds saying “well, as my dad always says
we’d rather be wrong thandead wrong”, he mentions that if Alyssa, dad
had thought alread they would be better off, Alyssa is annoyed at his
rudeness.
