Data Analyst do?
A Data Analyst collects, organizes, and draws meaningful conclusions from data
sets. A data set is any collection of data that relates to a certain subject, such as
past customer invoices, school test scores, demographic surveys, or government
budgets.

Show and Tell

On Fridays, we end the day early for a Juno tradition - Show and Tell. You’ll gather
with our community in a virtual classroom to watch short presentations from your
classmates. Throughout Bootcamp, each student will have the chance to do a
presentation on a topic of their choosing. We’ve had students teach us about
caring for our houseplants, how to take a headshot at home, perform dramatic
reenactments of iconic movie scenes, and more! This is a great time for everyone
to unwind, have some fun, and get to know each other!

If you were to ask me this time last year if I’d be working in tech, I wouldn’t
believe it. Juno gave me a solid foundation to make this transition possible.

After Hours
Bootcamp runs for eight hours per day, Monday to Friday for nine weeks.
Though these are the core hours, many of our students choose to work together
and connect before class, in the evenings, and even on weekends. Through virtual
tools like Zoom and Slack, students will stay connected and can collaborate and
problem-solve together 24/7. We consider all of our students family, and most of
them consider their virtual classrooms to be a second home during Bootcamp.

How long will it take?

Our Bootcamp is a full-time program that runs for nine weeks. There are
extracurricular activities after hours, but all the mandatory content takes place
during core hours. While there is in-class project work time, students will need
at least 20-40 additional hours per week to complete coursework. We strongly
recommend that Bootcamp students don’t take on any other major time
commitments while completing the Bootcamp so that they can focus on the
program and make the most of their experience.

The core hours of our Bootcamps are Monday - Friday, for 9 weeks, either from
10:00am - 6:00pm EST or 9:00am - 5:00pm EST depending on your program
session.

After graduation, you will begin your job search with the support of the Juno Team.
The job search should be treated as a job in itself! Our team and graduates have
found that getting into a full-time routine of filling out consistent, high-quality job
applications leads to the most success. We’ll share our proven job seeker process,
which we know works when students put in the effort!

What will it cost?

At Juno, we’re committed to diversity in tech, and ensuring financing isn’t a barrier
is a big part of that. The cost of Bootcamp at Juno varies based on which payment
method you choose and whether you’re eligible for any of our scholarships.

Tuition Upfront
When paying your entire tuition upfront, Bootcamp is $12,995 CAD. There is no tax
on Bootcamp tuition.

Alumni Scholarships
If you’ve taken our Data Analytics course, you will receive a $1,000 Alumni
Scholarship towards your Bootcamp tuition, if accepted.

Juno is the first school in Canada to offer Income Share Agreements for our
Bootcamps. This payment option is available to Canadian citizens and permanent

Our Data Analytics Bootcamp is always made up of a diverse group of students

I have no prior experience with data.

Is Bootcamp right for me?
Not quite yet! Applicants to our Data Analytics Bootcamp will be required to pass a
Tech Challenge using SQL and data visualization with Tableau, so you’ll need some
data analytics experience to be eligible for the program.

If you’re just getting started with data, our beginner-friendly Data Analytics course
will teach you the skills you need to complete the Tech Challenge and be set up for
success in Bootcamp. Successful Bootcamp applicants who have taken our Data

I’m interested in Bootcamp, but I’m going on vacation

receive their certificate, and that’s exactly how many we have planned during your
nine weeks with us.

How do I get into Bootcamp?

Our time-tested proven process involves hand-selecting a diverse group of students
who are all dedicated to not only changing their careers, but changing their lives.
We hold several Bootcamps per year, with around 40 students in each cohort,
which means that we have to be selective with who we accept. We take great care in
making sure that every student has what it takes to be successful - not only as a data
professional, but as a member of a team and the tech community at large.

While we encourage all interested applicants to apply, to gain acceptance into our
Bootcamp you must:

• Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.

• Be 18 years of age or older.

• Pass a Tech Challenge demonstrating your knowledge of SQL and data

visualization with Tableau.

• Complete an interview with a member of our Admissions Team.

• Commit to program and job search requirements.

• For Live Online sessions, you must be able to use your own computer
to participate in class. Please read our tech requirements and
recommendations.

Bootcamp Syllabus
Here’s an outline of what we’ll cover in Bootcamp! Please note that the syllabus may
be adjusted depending on the unique needs of each cohort.

WEEK 1

Spreadsheets
We’ll kick off Bootcamp by working with data in spreadsheets, introducing the
notion of a dataframe, and working with powerful data tools. We’ll talk about
calculating summary information to present data at a high level, as well as how to
leverage advanced concepts to make some deeper analyses. Finally, we’ll cover
light statistical methods that can bring even more depth to data analysis.

WEEK 2 & 3

SQL
It’s time to review and build upon our SQL knowledge! We’ll dive into advanced
SQL query development using window functions, advanced join techniques, and
complex queries across multiple tables. We’ll learn to combine data from multiple
sources by writing SQL queries, and apply this to real-world use cases in web
analytics, ecommerce, and strategic business decisions. By the end of these weeks,
you’ll be fluent in SQL, and able to write advanced queries for exploratory data

WEEK 4

Dashboards and Visualization

This week, we’ll cover the essentials of data visualization, including charts, graphs,
and interactive visualizations using Tableau. We’ll then bring these concepts
together into dashboards: collections of visualizations that tell a story. Finally, you’ll
create your own dashboard from the ground up: finding a question to answer
based on a data source, and narrating both the question and answer in a beautiful,
interactive dashboard.

WEEK 5

Introduction to Python
Next, we’ll familiarize ourselves with Python: a general-use programming language
that is ubiquitous in the data world. We’ll begin by covering variables, data
structures, logic, conditional statements, loops, and functions. Next, we’ll look at
scraping data from the web, as well as connecting to APIs, to unlock even more
functionality.

WEEK 6

Data Manipulation with Python

We’ll start with an overview of the many ways Python can be used to work with data.
Next, we’ll look at how we can connect to live data and retrieve it in Python, and how
this can be used to design data programs. We’ll then move on to a couple of central
packages in working with data in Python: Numpy and Pandas. We’ll leverage these to

clean and manipulate data. After this week, we’ll be able to create new data based
on what we’ve collected and prepare it for predictive modelling.

WEEK 7

Data Analytics and Visualization with Python

This week, we’ll cover how to make statistical analyses in Python, including
hypothesis testing and regression modelling. Next, we’ll look at using the tools we
recently learned to produce an in-depth analysis of a dataset. No analysis would
be complete without visualizations, so we’ll look at using Seaborn and Matplotlib
to create beautiful depictions of data using Python, and incorporate these into the
story told by our analysis.

WEEK 8

Predictive Modelling and Implementation

We’ll look at predictive modelling using Scikit-Learn, and implementing data tools
and programs in a live business environment via Docker. We’ll cover different
models that let us leverage existing data to make predictions about new data, as
well as models that let us draw insight from unstructured data. We’ll also cover how
to present our findings to different stakeholders, matching our language to their
level of understanding.

WEEK 9

Capstone Project, Special Topics, and Job Search

It’s time to bring together everything you’ve learned for your final project! This will
cover the entire data analysis workflow: from collecting, processing and blending
data, to exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and predictive modelling using

all the tools we’ve covered. You’ll create a written report, presentation, dashboard,
and Python notebook to share your findings. Instructors will also cover special
topics related to their backgrounds and interests.

Tableau Project
For your first project, you’ll start with a data set, then
work in groups to make observations before you
prepare and clean the data for analysis. What story
does the data tell? You’ll work to tell this compelling
data story using statistical analysis and a Tableau
dashboard.

SQL Project
In this project, you’ll work in pairs to complete a case
study using web data. You’ll analyze web analytics
using SQL to answer questions, gather insights,
and make recommendations in a data report.
