SCHOOL-BASED IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR TEACHERS
NARRATIVE REPORT
S.Y 2022-2023
Teachers are individuals who practice continuous learning. This is the reason why In-
Service Trainings were developed. Dimayon Elementary School is one of the schools that
prioritize development for teachers. Hence, Dimayon ES held its INSET last February 6-10,
2023.
The first day of INSET started with an opening program. The singing of the Philippine
National Anthem was conducted by Mrs. Jalila A. Sultan. This was followed by a prayer led
by Mrs. Aisa H. Sultan. The school head of Dimayon ES, welcomed everyone in the said
training through his opening remarks. Onaira E. Dimasangcay, the school INSET coordinator
gave a short orientation about the background of the training, and she assured everyone
who was present in the seminar that each will be equipped with enough knowledge about
the topics prepared by the speakers or facilitators. Again, our active school head delivered a
short inspirational message. She emphasized that the success of every program lies on the
active cooperation of every participant.
Our main topic for the whole week was about ICT, this is because technology
provides different opportunities to make it more fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching the
same things in different ways. The school head had found out that majority of her teachers
need the assistance of operating computers to make their teaching more fun and technology
centered.
Our first facilitator for this training was the ICT Coordinator, Onaira E. Dimasangcay,
for this day was “Overview of MS WORD”. The participants were very active during the
discussion because they want to explore more on how to operate the computer using the MS
WORD. The topic was very timely in the since that in the new normal teachers should have
technical knowledge in making soft files like forms, reports, data charts, and outputted to
tangible format or printed papers. And for the following days, the facilitator let them operate
on the laptops and gave them a activity to make. Everyone was actively involved in the
workshop and enjoyed every minute of the day. The third day ended with a fruitful
collaboration and sharing of ideas.
For the last day, Jalila A. Sulta, Kindergarten Adviser share a learning material she
made and discussed how instructional meaningful for every lesson we will be teaching.
It was indeed a fruitful and successful Five-day In-Service Training for all the
teachers of Dimayon Elementary School. All together, we learned that if learning materials is
designed to be highly relevant and delivered in context then it is likely to be useful especially
with the use of technology in it. Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow
belong to the people who prepare for it, and the greatest asset of every school is the
personality of the teachers.
The goals of the Department of Education of continuous upskilling and reskilling of
teachers and school leaders will result in better learning outcomes will achieved when
everything we learned from the training will put into action.
