DOCUMENTARY FILM
“GIVE UP TOMORROW”

 My name is Harold Wency T. Dantes and this is my reaction to the documentary “GIVE
UP TOMORROW. The documentary film focuses to the injustice side of the Philippine
Government. Paco Larranaga is a half Spanish half Filipino that live in Cebu. His parent has a
farm to provide food, shelter and good education to their children. Paco has a blood of Osmenia.

One day a traggic incident has come, two daughter has lost, they are being “kidnap, gang
raped and killed”, and the one body had saw, it is “Mary Joy Choing” a day before the Pace and
three others men has been catch by the police without any further evidence and no warrant of
arrest. That time the Philippine Government had face a bigger issue and i think in my own
opinion they do this “faked issue” for not focus to the real and bigger issue. The country focus in
the case of the Choing sisters. For me this is a shame in the Filipino people are bias the
Philippine justice. Without any further evidence and warrant of arrest Paco and three other men
was forcelly detained and go to prosecution that was not fair to the family of Larranaga at other
family of the other men. In fact Paco and other men are not related in each other. There are so
many evidence the and many pictures of Paco that he is on Manila and he study there on that
incident but they are continue to get him with force. A lot of people told him to leave the
Philippines but he is confident because he know in his self that he is innocent. Also they say that
Paco is the leader of the gang that do the kidnapping for me that was also a black propaganda.
That time the public was favorable to the police and which is not good or not in their side to
them. In this time the media hate Paco because to the blood on his veins I think because the
conflict of the family of Osmenia and other presidential candidate. The media is so very bias and
rely with their fake news. The media that time is anti- Paco and from there the people of the
Philippines also hate Paco without evidence and rely what they watch at hear to the news. Paco
know only the two of the other six who has been detained. To make the story short the
Government are planning to the group of Paco a penalty of death without any supporting
evidence to make the group guilty. In the other side, the Choing family tells that Paco and his
friend admiring the Choing sisters, but Paco said that he do not court the daughter of missis
Choing, in fact he do not know the Choing sisters. The journalist said in the interview that mr.
Dionisio Choing was dismiss in his service, don’t know what the reason but i think thaw was
related in this issue. Also the journalist also says that “why do we focus in this angle” because in
this case, i think the journalist has a good point.

Mr. Labra started arresting the other “suspect” without any supporting evidence. Mr.
Labra don’t now what he say and don’t know how to explain the whole story on how the arrest
of the other suspect, when he got interviewed by the reporter, I think the upper rank told him to
do the arrest. The journalist started to interview the four accused the none of them was Paco, he
said that in prison it is very hard and it is very hot, he also said that he can’t experience a VIP
treatment in the prison or jail. For me Paco and the six other men are frame-up by the powerful
Government that time to not focus to the bigger picture or the bigger issue in that said year, also
not focuses in the corruption of the Government that year. The Choing family are getting
sympathy to the people and related to the President that time which is mr. Josheph Estrada, and
President Joseph Estrada bring the law to bear on Choing case and for me that is so bias and
unequal to the part of the accused.
 One time the Law Enforcers and other Prosecutors forcefully went to the farm of the
Larranagas, and damage the land try to look for the body of one of the Choing sisters and try to
look some evidence without search warrant and without consent of the Larranaga Family they
don’t found any evidence at the farm of the Larranagas.

One day a witness has founded it mr. Davidson Rusia an American ex-convict, he said
that he is one of the suspect that was done the crime. He confess to the judge to be the state
witness , his confession was changing interchangeably but the court still believe in him.

The trial one year before the arrest Paco Larranaga and six other men are founded guilty
without strong evidence, the confession of mr. Davidson Rusia was believe in the court rather
than the strong evidence and all the friends of Paco was the voluntary witness of to save mr.
Paco Larranaga and the other six accusedbut all the witneses and strong evidence has been
ignored by the judge of the court. The right of the accusedhas been ignored in the time, as is aid a
while ago they are found guilty. And the punishment to the is reclusion perpetua or lifetime
sentence.

After the conviction has been made most of the members of the Prosecution has been
promote and I think it has something related to the case. Before Paco is going to the jail he
shaved his hair many are laughing to him but I think that was Paco’s motivation to start the new
life in the prison. He spend a lot to the prison pocility to the crime that he can not do. Then
suddenly after month/year the judge to the case of Choing sisters was found died to a hotel, he
commit suicide because I think he do that because he can no longer sleep at night and his
conscience is bathering him already because of what decision he do.

The famous line of Paco “GIVE UP TOMORROW” if you feel to give up now, just give
up tomorrow he said, for me that’s a good motivation for him, to his group and other people that
watch this documentary film. Paco for the last time was sentenced death penalty and for the last
time his last solution is to give message to the United Nation and to the king of Spain to help
him. The king of Spain respond to Paco and immediately help helm. He got lucky. The king of
Spain help him to save his life to the crime that he can not do.

This is how the shows the inhumane, unequal, bias and blind the Philippine Justice is.
That was a negative impact to the whole Philippines Government until now the corruption, bias
justice and other form of bad habits. It is a shamed in every Filipino, it is a shamed in Law
Enforcement and It is a shamed in the next generation like us.

I think the importance of Photography in this documentary is how the photography is use
as a strong evidence even if in this documentary film it is not use as a strong evidence.
