New genres are emerging and making huge influence in global culture. Furthermore,
multimedia and the internet have become concomitant in storytelling. To understand and appreciate
this evolving landscape, students need to develop proficiency in information and communication
technology (ICT) to navigate, analyze, and adapt these literary works effectively. Bridging the gap
between traditional literary analysis and the digital era empowers students to engage with, adapt,
and critically evaluate modern literary genres within the context of today's technological
advancements.

MAIN ACTIVITY
INSTRUCTIONS
Part I. Give the elements of a story and present them in a tabular form.
Part II. Research on the following literary genres listed below and provide a brief description
for each. Give at least two (2) famous works for each genre.
- Young Adult Literature
- Magical Realism
- Self-Improvement
Part III. Using a Venn Diagram, present the similarities and differences of the following
literary genres:
- Utopian Fiction and Dystopian Fiction
- Autobiographies, Biographies, and Memoirs
- Travel Guides and Travelogues

ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose and answer any of the alternative activities given below.

A. Read the flash fiction “The Light Eater” by Kristy Logan and present the plot of the
text using the Freytag’s Pyramid.
B. Read the short story entitled “The Pedestrian” by Ray Bradbury. Using a photo collage,
illustrate the environment established in the text.
C. Read the story under Young Adult Literature entitled “Strong Enough” by Karen Akins
attached in the VLE. Create a 250-word reader-response analysis.
D. Find a travelogue posted on a blog site. Create a 250-word summary based on how
the author showcased the place and narrated his/her experiences. Please be guided
by the following criteria for scoring below.
