PLANNING Follow a social media content calendar to
establish the online presence of DepEd in its digital
platforms.
Special events, commemorations, and holidays that
will need advance content must be anticipated.
The content plan should be flexible to
accommodate posting/crossposting requests from
other offices/bureaus and other urgent releases.
CONTENT All content should, as much as possible, be

Any information related to DepEd that will be
posted on social media should be approved for
release by the Head of the Public Affairs office.
Only official communications in the Department’s
name shall be uploaded on the page
Sharing of content or logo of a private company or
organization is allowed, as long as a proper
partnership with DepEd is established through the
External Partnerships Service
Any necessary permission on the usage of a third-
CONTENT party source’s (i.e.: logos of stakeholder partners,
downloaded vector icons, copyrighted music)
CREATION copyright, copyrighted material, trademarks, service
marks or other intellectual property must be acquired.
In creating captions for the social media content, the
use of Filipino and mother tongue/local
language/dialect is encouraged.
Posts with typographical errors, erroneous information,
and wrongly uploaded material must be rectified
immediately. A process must be established in
response to such events.
Social media content shall be intended only for serving
the public. Therefore, the monetization of content
shall be discouraged.
CONTENT
The graphics team of PAS and its pool of creatives
CREATION shall produce all materials that will be published in the
official main page of the Department of Education.
Materials that will be released on a national scope
(e.g., Brigada Eskwela, National Teachers’ Month, One
Health Week) will be produced by PAS and can be
contextualized by the field offices.
All graphic templates should be archived by the
respective offices to ensure easier and faster content
posting.
All posts shall be approved and reviewed by the
CONTENT head of office.
Educational contents should be vetted by the
APPROVAL Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) and other offices
concerned with the type of content which shall be

Partnerships and related content from partners should

(EPS) and the concerned offices.
All direct quotes taken from a speaker during key
messages, press conferences, speeches, and other
engagements should be vetted by the speaker
himself/herself.
Content produced by the social media content team
(e.g., interactive posts) should be vetted by the social
media manager.
SHARING
OF SOCIAL DepEd allied pages are encouraged to share
MEDIA content directly from the pages being managed by
PAS for maximum reach and increased
CONTENT engagement.
The standard hashtag for all posts will be
#DepEdPhilippines. Other hashtags that follow the
theme and key messages of the school year and
advocacy campaigns can be used for easier
monitoring.
SHARING All contents released by DepEd PAS are
allowed for sharing. However, manipulating the
OF SOCIAL materials is not allowed (i.e. cropping of the DepEd
logo, replacing the source, putting additional
MEDIA information that is not from DepEd)
The following contents are to be highly prioritized:
CONTENT official issuances, statements, press releases,
and advisories.
Should other agencies/partners ask for sharing of
their materials on DepEd’s social media platforms,
the social media manager must determine the
relevance of content to the page’s audience.
COMMUNITY Official social media administrators will be
authorized to mediate any discussion posted on
MANAGEMENT the social media accounts of DepEd.
Negative comments and issues raised through
comments can be replied to directly with a
comment or addressed through posts.
Any legal questions arising from the online
discussions should be referred to the appropriate
legal office.
The objective is to answer questions and to show
that the Department has the credibility to meet the
needs of the student, teachers, and parents.
COMMUNITY Comments shall be subjected to monitoring and will
be hidden or deleted if they contain the following

Spam
Hate speech
Ad hominem
Inciting violence
Pornographic material
Commercial
Fake news
Political
Foul/malicious language
Suspicious links and viruses
