VERIFICATION PROCESS
product:
BURNING TEST
Leave the unit connected to its nominal mains voltage during 24 hours.
Preliminary:
Connect the tester probes between the mains ground contact and the unit’s backside main ground test
point. When applying a 10A current, verify that the ground impedance is lower than 0’1Ω.
Connect the electrical insulation tester probes between the mains outlet ground contact and both shorted
mains input poles.
Adjust the tester’s current limit down to 10mA.
Apply 1500Vac during 5 seconds.
The unit’s insulation should be able to resist this voltage, without generating spurious sparks or a
sparkover effect, and the tester may not detect any malfunction.
CAUTION: Do not disconnect nor touch the test probes until the test has finished completely!
QUALITY CONTROL
All mechanical parts should be visually revised, in order to detect scratches on the unit's painting; all
screws should be on their place, correctly tight and unmarked. Check out the unit's general presentation.

3. CROSSFADER (44) centered.
4. FADER (47) up to its maximum.

10. SCRATCH CUE/FX RETURN (36) buttons released.
11. BALANCE (41) centered.
12. MUTE (54) selector switched to ON (upwards).
Note: Any type of manipulation or switching between different signal sources, effect sendings, and similar
user-dependent configurations should not affect in any case the unit’s output signal quality. This operation
may not produce switching noise, hums, scratch-noise or similar abnormal noise in any case. While
checking each potentiometer sweep, check both their correct function but also that they do not produce
any audible noise or scratch effect due to dust or failure. It is strongly recommended to read completely
this document containing the verification procedure descriptions before testing the unit, in order to avoid
misunderstandings and confusions during the test process.
• While the input port is loaded with a pick-up capsule, or if not available with a 600Ω load
impedance, and without applying any input signal, the unit’s output may not have any
audible hum or excessive noise levels.
• While applying music as input signal, verify the RIAA filter response by checking the good
sound quality, with a clear and balanced bass and treble music signal. Verify that if at the
same time another input signal is connected to the LINE input channel (located on RCA-
type connectors nearby the PHONO input) the second input signal may not be heard
through the PHONO processed signal (crosstalk).
• Connect a PHANTOM-fed balanced microphone to the XLR-COMBO type input plug (9),
located at the unit’s rear panel.
• Speak into the microphone and verify the sound quality.
• Verify that the microphone level can be attenuated 20dB by adjusting the rear panel mic
gain potentiometer (10). Check this function.
• Verify the correct CMRR response (output signal free from noise, hum and scratch noise).
• Verify also the tone control (27,34) and the LEVEL potentiometer (28).
• Verify the mixer’s input/output loop through the unit’s jack-type INSERT (11) plug.
(tip: output – ring: input).
Note: the input ports are combo-type connections (XLR+JACK), both type of connections should be
checked. If the PHANTOM power supply is cut off (which can be configured by internal jumper
adjustments), the microphone should not function.
• Switch the FX/PGM/PFL function selector (35) to its middle position (PGM).
• Connect a headphone set to any of the two PHONES sockets (60). Verify that both outputs
operate correctly.
• Slide down FADER 1 to its minimum value.
• The headphones should not carry audio signal.
• Switch to PFL through the FX/PGM/PFL function selector (35), and verify that now the
headphones do carry audio signal, as the yellow indicating led (46) should light up.
• The VU-meter should only light up the CH1 led bar.
• When sliding the CH1-CH2 potentiometer (40) to the left (CH1), the output signal remains
present.
• When sliding the CH1-CH2 potentiometer (40) to the right (CH2), the output signal
disappears.
• When pressing PGM/REV (33), again the audio signal is available through the headphones.
• Apply signal (music) through RETURN input (15).
• Change the FX/PGM/PFL selection switch (35) to FX. Through the headphones, the signal
applied to the RETURN input should be available, and will be affected by the DRY-WET
function. Both led bars of the VU-meter are active. The LEFT-RIGHT indicating led (45)
should be on.
• Verify the VOLUME control of the headphone section (PHONES).
• Verify the MUTE function switch (54).
