1. If you are communicating with the Customer Care Executive of a mobile service provider,
explain the various components of communication process during that conversation.

2. Mention five types of communication barriers you face in your daily life. Explain each such
situation.
Answer: Five types of communication barriers that I face in my daily life are:
1. Language barrier: Most people in the institute are well versed in Haryanvi which is
also their mother tongue but I find it harder to understand at times because no one
spoke haryanvi in the environment that I grew up in. Accents also become hindrance
in understanding the message by the sender clearly because some accents are much
more thick and the natives tend to speak in mu h more faster pace than normal like
Irish or Scottish accents in drama series would need subtitles to be understood.
2. Lack of active listening: Sometimes it becomes harder to actively listen to people
because your mind is preoccupied in other thoughts and remaining present in the
conversation is harder. If someone is delivering a presentation and it becomes too
long and boring you automatically loose the focus.
3. Physical barriers: Environmental factors such as noise, distance,network connectivity
etc. can impede communication. For eg. When I'm in middle of a video conference
there are times when the internet connectivity on the other side becomes poor and
the video pauses or the noise increases hindering the smooth conversation and
message becoming unclear.
4. Information overload: In today's fast paced world,it is becoming harder to prioritise
and process information when you are constantly bombarded by it all the time.
5. Conflict and Disagreement: Sometimes I have conflicting interests or opinions with
individuals on the topics that I feel strongly about like abortion rights, sexism etc. So,
communication barriers arise due to defensiveness, avoidance,or hostility.

3. Write a paragraph about yourself in 250 words.

4. Write the agenda items to be discussed in a meeting of the Student Club of your
department.

5. Write an email to the Director, Haryana School of Business, GJUS&T, Hisar mentioning a
proposal to organize a skill development workshop for MBA students. You can make suitable
assumptions.
 6. You along with your friends have recently visited a popular Water Park of your city. You
found the quality of service is not upto the mark. Write a letter to the manager of the Water
Park, complaining about the issue.

7. Write a representation to the Vice Chancellor of your University mentioning safety concerns
of the students.
