1. INTRODUCTION

Out Patient Department is that section of the hospital which is staffed, equipped and has
scheduled working hours to provide diagnostics, therapeutic, preventive and rehabilitative care to
those patients who are not registered as inpatients while receiving the services.

2. OBJECTIVES
2.1 To provide all ambulatory care facilities by integrating related departments.
2.2 To screen the patient for indoor admission or reference
2.3 Provide preventive and promotive facilities – immunization, periodic medical examination,
screening of patients, Ante natal care, etc.
2.4 Provide medical consultation, minor treatment, follow-up of discharged patients, treatment
of chronic cases and pre and post-natal checkups, etc. to all ambulatory patients
