Welcome Letter

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to The Aga Khan Academy, Dhaka! We are delighted that you will be joining
us on our new campus from 21st August 2022.
The mission of the Academy is to develop future leaders with the skills and knowledge
to support positive development in their societies. Through the provision of education of
the highest quality, it is our aim to prepare young people to lead and enact positive
change in the communities in which they live and serve.
As this is our first academic year, we are opening with Grades KG-3 to MYP-3 with a
student body of 600 students and a faculty of 60 teachers. We have been working hard
to prepare teaching materials that will support student learning. And to ensure that there
are many activities on campus.
As part of this welcoming letter, provided below is a brief update on certain items for
your consideration.
Uniforms: Students are expected to come every day in a proper school uniform, which
can be purchased from the school store. Students will also be required to purchase
black shoes (not through the school store).
Stationary: Most of the classroom requirements are provided by the Academy.
Attached is a list of material that students will be required to provide.
Transport: Academy provides bus transportation for students for minimal charge. We
would encourage all students to avail themselves contribution to greener environment.
Academic Calendar: The AY 2022- 23 calendar is attached for your reference. It will
give you an understanding of students contact days at the academy.

Laptop
MYP students require laptops to complete school work. The IB On-Screen
Examinations makes laptops very essential. In case one is buying a lap top, we
recommend the following specifications.

*Please note: This is subject to the operating system still being supported by the
manufacturer and may need to be updated accordingly every January and April before
E-assessments.
 Uniform Plan

All the students will wear the regular school uniform of the Academy. The uniform,
prepared the school tailor, will be available to be picked up from the Academy campus
from 7th -17th August between 10:00am to 2:00pm.

The uniform pack will consist of two sets of daily uniforms, two sets of PE uniforms and
a hooded jacket for winter. The charges for the complete uniform set will be included in
the school fees. Students may purchase additional uniform items throughout the year.

All the students are required to purchase a pair of black shoes on their own.
