Description and Application

Dodhys Medical design and build Area Valve

Service Units to provide control and isolation of
different areas in the medical gas distribution
system of hospitals.

They are fitted with pressure gauges, pressure

sensors, and downstream gas specific N.I.S.T.
fittings.

Features
• Pre-piped 22mm valves, pre-wired pressure sensors and electrical connection boxes.
• Up to 6 valves featuring easy serviceability.
• Each valve and AVSU is factory pressure tested.
• The wall box is fully galvanised with an exterior finish of polyester powder coated in RAL 9010 – white.
• In-line repairable valves construction
• NIST connectors to draw gas samples, assist in testing and purging

Design
 Modules are available in the Flush or Surface fitting types
 Gas types available O2 , N2O, O2 /N2O, MA4, SA7, VAC, CO2, N2
• Easy Installation
032/2023

• Gas venting to avoid inadvertent gas build up in cavity wall installation

• AVSU can be locked, but the valves can be accessed without a key in case of emergency.

Valves
• Valves are stainless Steel
• All valves are full port ball valves
• All valves are 22mm
• All valves cleaned for Oxygen service
• Color coded labeling

Alarm
• The sensors are mounted locally.
• Each sensor and display unit is gas specific.
• Up to 6 services can be accommodated.
• Each specific service provides LED digital read-out for pressure and vacuum.
• The digital read-out provides a constant indication of each service being measured.
• Individual gas specific indicator lights are provided indicating a green “NORMAL”, yellow “WARNING” for high
and low Condition, and a red “HIGH” or “LOW” alarm condition.
• Under normal operation the “GREEN” lights will be on. If an alarm occurs, the “RED” alarm light shall flash and
the audible alarm will sound.
• Pushing the “ALARM MUTE” button will cancel the audible alarm, but the unit will remain in the alarm condition
until the problem is rectified.
• The default set-points shall be +/-20% variation from normal condition.
• In the calibration mode the following parameters can be field adjustable: High/Low set-points, Imperial / Metric
units, Repeat alarm Enable / Disable.
• Two on board push buttons help adjust the set points. Additionally, “TEST” & “ALARM MUTE” buttons are placed
on the front of the unit for operation and testing.

Installation
 Delivered assembled to site for easy one man installation
 Incoming and outgoing Pipes extend beyond the panel for direct connection to upstream and downstream
networks
 The wall box unit has a front surround to suit varying wall surface thickness.
