Sammons History Museum Special Exhibit

Sammons History Museum is proud to announce the opening of its special exhibit “Changing
the Landscape: Mining in the Byerst Region” on April 3.

Copper and iron mining led to the founding of Sammons and many other Byerst cities and
towns, and furnished a significant amount of the area’s income until just a few decades ago.
Using real artifacts, “Changing the Landscape” will explore this important history from a
variety of angles, touching on life as a miner, the uses of Byerst’s metals, Curtis Moss and
