MESSAGE
Minister
I am delighted to know that Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) is going to
celebrate its 17th Graduation Ceremony on 19 March 2019. On this day, MIST will cross another
milestone of success in the field of technical and knowledge based education. I firmly believe
that establishment of MIST on 19th April 1998 by the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was a
milestone in the history of technical education in Bangladesh towards materializing the dream of
the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to build “Sonar Bangla”.
MIST is contributing significantly in building technology and knowledge based prosperous nation.
On this day, I would like to congratulate all graduates and wish them all the very best in pursuing
their career in future. I would like to convey the message to all graduates that you have worked
hard, and your parents, families, faculty members and the institute itself have sacrificed much
to get you here, to become a proud engineer. Make them and your institute proud through
your contributions, especially by being hard working, innovative, committed and ethical in your
profession.
I am glad to know that within a short span of only 19 years. MIST has grown into a well-rounded
institute with its own campus and 12 departments under four faculties where more than two
thousand five hundred civil and military students pursue their study. MIST has established its
credibility in the field of research and development in home and abroad.
Digital Bangladesh is one of the nation's dreams, where in special emphasis is given on the
application of digital technologies to realize Vision 2021 by the present Government. MIST is one
of the prime Institutes of our country that supports the effort of Government in creating Digital
Bangladesh. I am sure that MIST graduates will contribute to build the nation's dream. Present world
scenario is continuously changing with the global technological advancement and innovation.
I am confident that MIST graduates will be able to combat future challenges identifying the
problems, formulate and develop complete engineering solutions leading to social and economic
development of our beloved country.
on this auspicious occasion, I appreciate all the MIST leadership, faculty members and stag's for
their relentless efforts for successful conduct of all academic activities. 1 wish the 17th Graduation
Ceremony of MIST a grand success.
It gives me immense pleasure to learn that 17th Graduation Ceremony of MIST will be held on
19 March 2019. Enhancing its image through professional excellence, MIST is working hard to
fulfill the long cherished desire of Armed Forces. It is now appropriately treading with its motto
– “Technology for Advancement”. Keeping the motto in heart, the faculty and staff in MIST are
pursuing relentlessly to brand MIST as the Centre of Excellence for science and technology.
Since its inception by the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 1998, this institution has been
flourishing in quality education, moral development and discipline of students. I am pleased to
know that MIST has successfully proved its academic excellence both in national and international
arena. We are proud having a well- reputed institution like MIST in our country.
I heartily congratulate the Graduating Students on this auspicious occasion wishing them a
bright future in their ensuing professional career. My whole hearted appreciation also goes to the
teaching faculty and staff for their unwavering commitment and resolve in achieving all round
success. I wish 17th Graduation Ceremony of MIST a grand success.
Military institute of Science and Technology (MIST), a harbinger technical institute of Armed Forces,
is making remarkable stride in nourishing and empowering our personnel with arduous effort to
achieve its motto ‘Technology for Advancement’.
MIST has become a prestigious institute in technical studies by its brilliant, luminous and dynamic
journey within past 19 years. She has expanded her academic curriculum into 12 departments
and introduced MSc and PhD program in CE, EECE, ME, CSE and NSE departments and MSc
program in AE and BME departments.
Aeronautical Engineering department, upholding its dignity, has become a brand of MIST with its
mesmerizing achievements in various National and International events. I am delighted to know
that, MIST has introduced MSc program in AE department since 2016 and I hope PhD program will
also be introduced in this department in near future to contribute significantly in the development
of aviation sector of Bangladesh.
I am very glad to learn that MIST is stepping forward to conduct undergraduate program by
adopting newly introduced Outcome Based Education (OBE) system to comply with the
accreditation requirement of Washington Accord. This will indeed help the graduated engineers
to make themselves more acceptable in the international job market as well as for acquiring
admission in world renowned universities. Consequently, students of different departments of MIST
will play leading role in fulfilling the demands of efficient and dedicated technical personnel for
the country and the world at large.
On the auspicious occasion of 17th Graduation Ceremony, I would like to congratulate all the bright
graduating engineers for successful completion of their journey at MIST. I would also like to convey
my warm felicitation to the Commandant, faculty, parents, guardians and all the members of MIST
for their relentless effort behind the success.
I am confident that new graduates have the potentiality for leadership and they would effectively
address the world’s challenges and take the advantages of the most exciting opportunities to
prosper in future.
May the Almighty Allah, bless us all.
Latest innovations of engineers molded with artificial intelligence (AI) are bringing about interactive
products and services that are not only making our life easy but also saving valuable time and
resources. One of the promising breeding house of ethical engineers and architects in Bangladesh
is Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). Under the umbrella of Armed Forces Division
(AFD), MIST started its noble journey on 19 April 1998 inaugurated by the then Honourable Prime
Minister of People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. Since then, to harvest rich out of
technology, the team of MIST is working relentlessly to develop potential professionals with ethical
values. I hope and strongly believe that with the blessings of Almighty, the endeavor to make MIST
the 'Centre of Excellence' around the globe is not far away.
It is to be mentioned that most of the students of MIST are from civil society who prefer to build their
career in one of the finest academic environments in Bangladesh. MIST is not only making them
good engineers but also fostering their ethics and virtues so that they can serve the nation and
humanity. Today I am delighted to learn that 545 students are achieving their graduation degree
in this 17th Graduation Ceremony of MIST. My heartiest felicitations to all the graduates.
Upholding the motto "Technology for Advancement", all the faculties, staffs and graduates
of MIST are committed to serve the nation with updated knowledge and skills of science and
technology in various areas of development. I express my heartfelt greetings and compliments to
the graduating students, their proud parents as well as to the faculties and staffs of MIST for their
