I have decided to undertake a career path in psychology.
I can recall quite vividly embarking on this journey into psychology
and all it entails. It began fairly early in my life, as I have been fascinated with how the human mind works. But it was upon reading "The Lucifer Effect” by Phillip Zimbardo that challenged me to think outside the box and go beyond the mere concept of a person being evil but rather to shed light on how our society is inadvertently responsible.
Given that my interests and passion lie in psychology, I am of the
opinion that I have the required disposition for such a course. I have a love for books. In fact, I am a voracious reader with an appetite for knowledge and deeper comprehension of ideology. I am self-motivated and I have a propensity to delve into my sphere of interest entirely. My skillset varies from research to communication and adaptation. I am proved to be an effective researcher with efficient skills to document data in psychology classes.
I have had the opportunity of taking psychology as a school subject in
my 11th and 12th grades which was a tremendous introduction. In grade 11 my hard work paid off and I achieved an A. This is a clear example of my dedication to my academic path but also a reflection of my hard work ethic.
I am prepared for the challenges life at university would present me.
At the age of seven I moved from Russia to India. This colossal life change made me more independent and I am now comfortable being outside my comfort zone. I am very open to change. In fact, I embrace it. This has allowed me to adapt to new environments easily and will facilitate a smooth transition to life abroad at university. I have had scarcely any opportunities to engage in the external activities due to long lasting Covid restrictions in India. However, I’m proud of my achievements in the Olympiads which involved translating complex texts from French to English and being among the few to have achieved a gold medal over two consecutive years. This is a testament to my determination, diligence and ability to learn languages quickly.
I like sports, especially football. I started to play female football in
the high school which is a means of exercise and enjoyment for me as well as an opportunity to participate in a team sport. Playing football improved my ability to work as part of a team and built up my confidence.
My work experience includes working at the family restaurant. My
duties are: waiting on tables, bartending and managing payments. Qualities I gained while working at the restaurant that relate to the course are: punctuality, tolerance and patience, effective time organizational skills, managing multiple duties at once, clear and concise communication with people from a variety of background.
I’m excited about the opportunity to study psychology at the
University of Padua. My goal is to enhance my knowledge on psychology, and work to help discover more about the human mind.
Further it can be eighter this phrase
Ultimately, I would like to gain enough theoretical and practical knowledge experience in order to implement the fundamentals and concepts in our society in my future work. Or this one, because you need to speak about goal in the future as work
Therefore, the knowledge gained from the course I can apply in
better the society in my future work. In order to be best prepared and qualified, I have chosen to study psychology at the university of Padua. *Though my 12th year grades may not meet certain requirements, I can assure you that being equally goal and result oriented combined with my passion for psychology as well as motivation to experience an academic environment will be reflected in my high performance at your university.
Not sure if you need to point to your grades. They will see it any way.
