Proportions and Consonance

PROPORTIONS

 Proportion refers to the dimensions of a composition and relationships between height, width
and depth. How proportion is used will affect how realistic or Stylized Something seems
 Proportion also describes how the sizes of different parts of a piece of art or design relate to
each other. The proportions of a composition will affect how pleasing it looks and can be used to
draw our attention to particular areas. According to BBC uk.
 For a more digestible definition it is the ways art looks more balance for an instance human face
to make it realistic it has to be a balanced mixture of features

Consonance

It is the use of finding harmony in light and dark, blurred and clear, and lastly the shadows and light.

RADIANCE AND CLARITY

Radiance is defined simply as what “holds the eye.” It is the aspect of the object that draws viewers into
the work and makes them want to continue to perceive it or perceive it again. Radiance also has to do
with light as it creates the possibility of clarity, which is an essential ingredient to this work.( Spicher,
2018)

To add radiance and luminance are good indicators of how brignt an object or anything is but both can
be called “ brightness”

CLARITY

The idea of clarity is based upon the principle that the individual form rendering of each object does not
leave the viewer puzzling about its identity. (Tinman Gallery, 2004)

The importance of clarity is expressing art in the clearest, most effective way. Because without clarity,
nothing can be related or understood.For visual artists, that often means thinking in terms of strong
shapes, clean lines, and obvious alignments of force (i.e. lines of action). (Animated Spirit)

It stands by the word of being clear or straight forward in artwork that wants to expressing something or
bring out something impactful.
