Personality Bingo is a great way for a new group of students to get

to know each other.

Each person in the room (including the teacher!) gets a “bingo”

sheet with 16 or 25 boxes. I’ve found this activity works best when
all the sheets are the same. They walk around the room, collecting
signatures of people who fit the descriptors in each box. By the end
of the activity, everyone in the room will know something new
about most of their classmates!

This activity is great for the outgoing students because it gives them
the chance to move around the room and talk to whoever they
want. It’s also a non-threatening activity for the more introverted
students because they only have to talk to one person at a time,
and they can warm up to the activity by talking to people they
already know first. And, it’s a great way for the students to see
another side of you, their teacher!

Choose a grid based on the size of your class. Read through the
boxes before you print it, checking to make sure the descriptors are
appropriate for the age level and backgrounds of your students. Edit
as necessary! Don’t expect everyone to talk to every single other
person, but encourage students to mingle with others besides their
known friends.
