"Becoming a Hero: Unveiling the Inspirational Journey of Michelle Obama"
She is best known as the first lady of the United States and the wife of former US
President Barack Obama. Many people are unaware that Michelle is more than simply
the president's wife; she is a lawyer and author who fights for healthy families, service
personnel and their families, higher education, and international adolescent females
education. She also received "Best Spoken Word Album" at the 2019 Grammy Awards
for her book "Becoming," as well as "Best in Literature" at the Shorty Awards, and was
nominated to the BBC's 100 Women list. Nonetheless, her accomplishments as the first
lady of the United States were a game changer because she displayed abilities and
attributes that people look up to.
As a woman who often feels doubted and scared because of the expectations placed
on us by society, I came across many articles about Michelle Obama. At first, I
dismissed them, but after learning and seeing how strong and intelligent she is and how
dedicated she is to serving the people, she became one of my life's inspirations and I
chose her as my own hero. Obama was the first African-American woman to serve as
first lady, and many of us are aware of America's awful prejudice, but she fiercely
campaigned for changes she wanted to see in the country and left a legacy. She is my
hero because, as first lady, she acted as a role model for us women and advocated for
poverty awareness, education, nutrition, physical activity, and healthy eating. She
inspires us women to show who we are and what our true skills are to the world by
encouraging us to pursue our education. She quotes, “No country can ever truly
flourish if it stifles the potential of its women and deprives itself of the contributions of
half its citizens,” As a result, she advocates for women's equity, demonstrating that what
men do, we can also do. With this, I believe Michelle Obama and I share the same
Philosophy, since I want to empower other women to be proud of who they are and that
we matter. We should be proud of our confidence and compassion, and we deserve to
be treated equally with men, since we are more than what society thinks us to be. Aside
from that, Michelle Obama is a lawyer, which is something I have always wanted to
become.
As someone I admire, I can say that being a lawyer, an author, and an advocate are
only a few of her numerous strengths. Aside from that, she has demonstrated her
abilities as a competent public speaker, and her ability to graduate from Princeton and
Harvard Law and have a successful professional career should be acknowledged as a
strength, as not everyone is capable of doing so. With that, I could state that I don't
notice any flaws in her; either she is adept at disguising them or she doesn't have any at
all. Nonetheless, everyone can learn something from her, and as for me, aside from
learning from all of her accomplishments and advocacies, I also learned something from
her memoir, which is that if we want to make a career pivot, we should not lock
ourselves in our own heads and instead go to the real world with a thirst to learn and the
belief that when we are genuine and willing to grow, people are generally open and
helpful.
In closing, there are many other people I may look up to and appreciate as my own
hero, but Michelle Obama's passion and transparency allowed me to relate to her and
recognize what an amazing woman she is.
