1. How does “A Clockwork Orange” explore the concept of free will? What do the
characters and their actions suggest about the role of personal choice in society?
- A Clockwork Orange explore the concept of free will by showing the real
life consequences, for example, Alex choose “pleasurable things” he able to face
negative consequences (like revenge from people he under estimate to, etc.). These
kind of scenario suggest that, consequences in life (between bad or good) will
depends on what path we decide on.

2. Discuss the role of coercion and conditioning in “A Clockwork Orange”. How do


these techniques relate to the concept of free will?
- The role of coercive and conditioning in A Clockwork Orange it connotes to
the concept in the movie “Robocop” wherein, coercion and conditioning became
a tool to fix or develop ones mind, because of bad environmental factors which
affects Alex discernment that affects his behavior, bad people surrounds likewise
to be like them (vice versa).

- The character of Alex is similar to a “robot” like in the movie Robocop,
behavior is learned or imitated ones an individual, like Alex, expose to a group of
people had unpleasant behaviors (like his friends), will create a bad character for
himself (vice versa).
4. Discuss the ending of “A Clockwise Orange”. How does it relate to the film’s
themes of free will and personal responsibility?
- The movie ends up that Alex was undergone a reversed Ludevico to change and
make him normal person with normal discernment and behavior. These depicts
that man is distinct from animals only because we had FREE WILL, being
cautious is good on the decision we render in life, wherein fact, one’s fail to
decide, no way to return.
