1 Aranya Choksi Our topic was School Life and I was the proof - reader. We had to make a number of videos and reports after our interaction with our peer group. I made the Padlet link through which we could all communicate, the research report, coordination with all my group members and filmed interviews of myself, and my family. I enjoyed the exchange of different ideas the most, as the exposure to diverse perspectives broadened my understanding and enhanced my communication skills and adaptability. Everyone was quite interested and excited in collaborating, however, I feel that we could have worked better as a group if we had communicated more often as well as set stricter deadlines for ourselves. Other than that we all had a fun and exuberant time. I learnt about the languages spoken and learnt in their school, differences in festivals, and time schedules and their family backgrounds. While we all study the traditional subjects such as mathematics, sciences, and English, they learn Dutch while we learn Hindi and Marathi. Our time schedules are quite similar with school till about 3pm and then sports and homework. This experience gave us an opportunity for mutual learning, cultural exchange, and the development of skills essential for global collaboration. 2 Karia Thanawala For the eumind exchange programme, we had been assigned the topic of school life. We had to share information on our country and the education system that has been followed across three different generations. I interviewed my family regarding the same and also edited some of the videos we shared. Throughout this programme we have worked as a team to finish every task handed to us. I’ve had a memorable experience working with not only my classmates but also our peers from the partner school. Working in a team has taught me how to be responsible, corporate with other's timings and work methods and also showed me everyone's skills and strengths. The video calls and all the communication we have had with our partner school has been such a unique experience for me. We were able to learn about their ways of life and at the same time share ours. Although I wish we could have more communication and interaction with our peers I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed participating in this programme 4 Shreshtha Singh Our group topic was School Life. My job was the IT person for my group. My main task was to ask questions to my mother, our peers in the Netherlands and myself about school life. I interviewed my mother and myself and wrote a research report. In a Zoom meeting, my group asked questions to our peer group. I asked a few questions on WhatsApp. It was intriguing to learn how different things were for my parents and how their education system differs from ours. It was an exciting experience to talk with people from a different country and learn new things about their school life. We all had varying cultures and traditions. The exposure to many different perspectives enhanced my knowledge and increased my communication skills. I also enriched my teamwork skills. Everybody participated and contributed. It was fun to work together as a team however we could have communicated better. Many aspects of our school life were different from our peers. Our peer’s school offers subjects such as German and Drama, which are not there in our school. We have Hindi and Marathi, which are not there in their school. Our peers have tests every week, while we only have two tests and a final exam for each subject. This was a learning experience and enhanced many skills. 4 Miraya Sehgal I am the group photographer, and one of my responsibilities was to take the opening and Diwali videos, among other videos. Since the opening video was taken in one of my peers' houses, I had to set everything up to achieve the ideal lighting for the shot. I carried my tripod with me in hopes of achieving the ideal angel. I eventually forwarded the videos to the group's editor so that they might be compiled. Well, when on call with my intercultural peers, I discovered how very different our daily schedules are from one another and was amazed by the various approaches to learning. Nevertheless, we managed to interact effectively and finished the call together All things considered, our communication went smoothly , and we completed all of our assignments on schedule. Although there are many disparities in our educational and school experiences, we have all managed to find some common ground. 5 Vihaan Dalal We communicated via Zoom and WhatsApp and I helped by editing a few of the videos and coming up with a few of the questions we asked them. I learned a lot from EUMIND and especially got some light into different cultures’ school life and way of living, fashion, speech etc. I also improved my editing skills a lot on this project. In my opinion, the whole project went very smoothly, and the communication between each other internally as well as externally was prompt and efficient. I believe that although very different culturally and linguistically, the common factor - humanity and curiosity shone from both sides. THANK YOU By Group 2 - School Life
