THE EMIRATES MOTOR RACING ACADEMY
The Emirates Motor Racing Academy is a professional coaching body based in the UAE and endorsed
by the Emirates Motorsport Organisation of the UAE ‘EMSO’. Supported by the infrastructure of Dragon
Racing, EMRA provide the very highest level of circuit driver coaching available globally. Facilitating
bespoke track driving tuition for all levels of experience, EMRA enables novice drivers to enjoy high
levels of professional coaching, obtain their first race licence and compete in UAE EMSO Permitted
Race Meetings – all within the safety of a professionally recognised organisation.

EMRA can design and deliver a bespoke racing solution to the participant based upon their
aspirations and budget; assisting drivers through their first race meeting, helping them develop their
skills and enjoy being part of the UAE Motor Sport community.

Our vision is to grow a broad, varied base of driver talent within the UAE; helping young career minded
karters onto their single seater dream. Alongside aiding enthusiastic Track Day exponents advance
their skills and take part in National Race Meeting events. Additionally, we have a proven track record
in creating bespoke Driver Development Programmes for drivers looking to utilise the plentiful track
time and ideal weather of the UAE racing season before returning to Europe or the Far East for their
summer campaigns.
 ACTIVIT Y OVERVIEW
Racing is at the heart of Dragon’s DNA, and to
prepare the next generation of race drivers we
are organising an exclusive and intensive 3-day
driving course at Dubai Autodrome. Over the 3
days you will complete an advanced race licence
course with a multi choice test, followed by a
practical assessment on the racetrack and then
10 races in your own race car or a hired race car,
provided by Dragon Racing.
The course is designed to take you from a novice
driver to someone who can safely navigate a
race circuit and start on the grid of any National
or International race.
Part one of the course introduces you to the
motor circuit and safe navigation, including how
flags and marshalling work at a circuit.
This essential qualification provided by the
sport’s governing body, Emirates Motorsport
Organisation (EMSO), is recognised throughout
the world. It includes both academic and
practical assessments, ensuring your suitability
and helping to maintain safety at circuits around
the country.
During your 3-day course you will be taught
driving theory, racing techniques including
overtaking; grid starts; standing and rolling
starts as well as the procedures for the various
stages of a race, car setup methods and race
rules – everything you need to obtain your race
licence.
It is essential to complete the 10 races in order
to complete the course and obtain your Race
International C Licence.

At the heart of the Union Properties MotorCity development, it includes an FIA sanctioned 5.39km circuit
with six different configurations, a race school, indoor and outdoor karting tracks, the Grandstand
Retail Plaza, the Motorsport Business Park, a VIP Paddock Hospitality area and entertainment facilities
ideal for events and corporate entertainment.

Located 25 minutes from central Dubai, the Dubai Autodrome is a safe and controlled motoring
environment that can accommodate large crowds, whether as a local social destination or as a tourist
attraction for overseas visitors.

 FAQS
i. Do I need prior track experience before sitting the EMRA
Novice Driver Race Licence Test?
Ideally yes. There is a limited amount of pre-test coaching
included, however we would suggest a few separate days
of either circuit-based car experiences, public track days in
road or race cars or free practice sessions in race cars, prior
track experience before sitting the test.
ii. Do I need my own race car?
No, EMRA will supply a suitable vehicle for your EMRA
Novice Driver Race Licence Test.
iii. Do I need my own Racewear for the test?
You will be required to bring your own personal kit, however
the Kit is available to purchase onsite.
iv. Where do I get the Medical completed?
You will be required to undergo a Race Licence Medical
before starting the ‘Ready to Race’ Course. These are
available at MEDCare in Motorcity.
v. Is the Written Test difficult?
Not really, it’s a multiple choice examination based upon
Safety, Flag Signals, Race Organisation and a good deal of
common sense.
vi. What happens if I fail?
We will look at the reasons behind the failure and suggest a
coaching programme to rectify the faults. Then you can re-
sit, this may even be possible on the same day.
vii. Could you advise me in which direction to take once
I’ve successfully completed my EMRA Novice Driver Race
Licence Test and obtained my Licence?
100% Yes. EMRA advice is honest and free of charge. Call in
