PROJECT WORK

Good evening teacher and classmates, my group is made up of Noemi


Campos, Derely Cerna, David Ruiz, Jose Davila, Robert Cruz and Tiziana
Zavaleta, who is speaking to you, our project is about a visit to the bookstore,
using places, adjectives, adverbs of frequency, verb to be, questions about
quantity, preferences, etc.

Dialogue

The dialogue takes place in a small town in Peru. The characters are:

Edgar: A 21-year-old man who lives in the town.

Derely: Edgar's 19-year-old sister.

José: Edgar and Derely's father.

Tiziana: Edgar and Derely's mother.

Noemí: The receptionist at the library.

Jhon: Assistant and salesperson in the library

Scene 1:

Edgar and Derely are walking home from work.

Edgar: I'm so bored. I wish there was something to do.

Derely: Me too. It's so quiet in this town.

Edgar: Maybe we could go to the library.

Derely: That's a good idea.

Scene 2:

Edgar and Derely arrive at the library.

Edgar: (to Derely) Look, it's so big!

Derely: Yeah, it's huge.


Edgar: I wonder how many books they have.

Derely: I don't know, but I'm sure it's a lot.

Edgar and Derely walk into the library.

Noemí: Hello, can I help you?

Edgar: Yes, we want to check some books.

Noemí: Sure, what kind of books are you interested in?

Derely: I like to read about psychology.

Edgar: I like to read about history.

Noemí: Okay, I'll show you where the psychology books are.

The receptionist leads Edgar and Derely to the psychology section of the library,
then they meet John and he offers to review new books.

Scene 3:

Edgar and Derely are browsing the psychology section.

Edgar: Wow, look at this book about Freud!

Derely: I love Freud!

Edgar: Me too.

Derely: I want to read this book.

Edgar and Derely check out the book about Freud.

Noemí: Here you go. That will be 20 soles.

Edgar: (to Derely) Do you have any money?

Derely: Yeah, I have some.

Derely gives the receptionist 20 soles.

Noemí: Thank you. Here are your books.


Jhon: Hello guys, I also have books by Mariano Sigman and also by Katherine
Collin and they are on sale, which one do you prefer?

Derely: No thanks very much, but I'll buy it next week.

Jhon: Of course, it will be a pleasure to receive your visit. Until next week

Edgar and Derely thank the receptionist and leave the library.

Edgar and Derely walk home, talking about their new books.

Scene 4:

They walk up to their house and see José and Tiziana sitting on the couch.

José: Hey, kids. How was your day?

Edgar: It was good. We went to the library.

Tiziana: That's great. What did you get?

Derely: I got a book about psychology.

Edgar: And I got a book about history.

José: That's sounds interesting. I always be interested in history.

Tiziana: Me too. I think it's important to learn about the past.

Edgar: Yeah, I agree.

The four of them talk for a few more minutes, then Edgar and Derely go inside.

José: That was nice. I'm glad you kids had a good time.

Tiziana: Me too. I'm proud of them for being interested in learning.

José and Tiziana sit on the porch for a while longer, talking about their children
and their own interests.

José: I'm so glad they're both interested in learning. It's important to have a
thirst for knowledge.

Tiziana: I agree. I think it's also important to be well-rounded. They should be


interested in a variety of things, not just one or two subjects.
José: That's a good point. I want them to be well-prepared for whatever they
want to do in life.

Tiziana: Me too. I want them to have all the opportunities they need to succeed.

CONCLUSIONS

These topics are important for learn English because they are used in everyday
conversations. For example, we often talk about places, things, and people. We
also use adjectives and linking verbs to describe things and people. Also, we
use frequency adverbs to talk about how often we do things.

The dialogue shows how these topics can be used in different contexts
