Man story I've been involved with in the five-plus years
I've been Spider-Editor. You have just embarked on a

zilch, So let me just tell you about the incredible creative
teams that are working on this incredible storyline.
First, let me introduce you to what we сай, їл the spirit
of this story, THE BEYOND BOARD...
ЛЕВ WELLS was the first person | contacted when we
wanted to startbuilding this story. Zebediah Chartreuse
Wells wrote some of my favorite Spider-Stories of ай
time ("Shed” in ASM, SPIDER-MAN/DOCTOR OCTOPUS:
YEAR ONE, and the underrated AVENGING SPIDER-
МАН), andafter years oftrying tocoax him away from
а lucrative career in television and goat waxing, he
said, “Yes.” Zeb writes the most viscerally emotional
scenes in comics, and | wanted that for this new era
of Spider-Man. But once Zeb made his pitch and we
realized the pace and scope of what the story would
demand, we knew he would need help. So we builtthe
best writing team comics has ever seen...
Most comics start at ahigh point, and sales generally
decrease. It’s just the natural order of things. KELLY
THOMPSON is that rare writer whose books ძი!
the natural order and get bigger and bigger. ls it
because of a wide-ranging conspiracy between Kelly
and the huge network of comic book retailers around
the world? No. Well, unless you call the most hilarious
‘and surprising character writing and а penchant for
co-creating new, indelible characters (like Star and
JEFF THE LANDSHARK) а conspiracy. I don't. I just
love Kelly's writing and was pumped that she agreed
to join the team.
CODY ZIGLAR' participation here is Zebs fault. Cody
and Zeb worked together in the writers’ room of the
upcoming Marvel Studios Disney+ SHE-HULK show,and
Zeb told me Codywastherealdeal. Afterworking
with Codyonsomeshortstories andone-shots, I knew

years working on MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN--as
well as BLACK BOLT, EXILES, and MS. MARVEL--Saladin
has packed so much old-school action into his comics
that you might think he doesn’t know how to wallop
you in the gut with а plot-twist character moment. As
the common recipient of the aforementioned wallops,
1 can tell you he knows how.

multiple writers overtheyears, andonemistake I've
