CBS New York (WCBS/WLNY) sponsored and hosted a


3-part event career fair at Syracuse University’s Newhouse
School of Public Communications. This event included an
information session, a next-generation story-telling
segment by our own reporter, Jessi Mitchell, and then a
career fair. During the information session, we provided an
overview of who we are, what we do, and our reach.
During the next-generation storytelling, Jessi Mitchell
elaborated on what it’s like to be a multi-skilled journalist
and a demonstration, and during the career fair, members
of the CBS New York team met with many students,
collected resumes, and chatted with them about a future at
CBS New York.

Virtual Equity & Inclusion Multi-School Hiring Event 4/4/2023 HR Director ; President/General

The Diversity Hiring Event focuses on bringing together


students and employers who are interested in creating work
environments that value and promote workforce diversity.
This includes a variety of things including but not limited
to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race,
ethnicity, religion, immigration status, nationality,
socioeconomic status and disability. CBS News New York
provided more information about their business day-to-day,
their opportunities, and how we use DEI initiatives to be
#BETTERTOGETHER, in multiple virtual “group
sessions” that consisted over 50 students at a time, over the
course of the day.
NYC Syracuse Job Fair 5/19/2023 HR Director; HR Coordinator;
Recruiter
CBS New York attended a Syracuse University NYC Job
fair at the Westin, Times Square Hotel. The HR Director,
HR Coordinator and Recruiter attended this fair and
chatted with students from a variety of different
backgrounds and majors in order to recruit for open roles at
CBS New York. Each representative elaborated on our
internship program, our entry-level openings, and
explained to each student "who we are."

services, and the newsroom. Our

field operations. The interns received
