This document outlines the schedule, grading, rules, lectures, and course materials for a Quantum Mechanics Physics course taught by Dr. Ahmed A Ebrahim. The course is on Saturdays from 9-11am in Room D, and covers topics like the Schrodinger equation, harmonic oscillators, hydrogen atoms, and angular momentum through December. Students will be graded based on homework, two quizzes, a midterm exam in mid-semester, and a final exam. Rules require homework be submitted on time and no make-up quizzes are allowed. Lectures will combine slides and the whiteboard, and cover content requiring knowledge of previous lectures. Course materials include slides, textbooks, and

General Information Grading ◼ The attendance and assignment home work will be considered. ◼ Coursework (40%) : ❑ One quiz before the mid term exam and the other after the mid term exam (time is given), (10%). ❑ Questions types: mcq – short answers and derivations – problems – complete – true or false with corrections etc.. ❑ Activities (30%) : Homework assignments. ◼ Mid Term Exam (20%): ❑ In the middle of the semester (time is given). ❑ Questions types: same as quiz + long answers and derivations. ◼ Final Exam (40%): ❑ At the end of semester (time will be given). ❑ Questions types: same as quiz + long answers and derivations.

General Information Rules ◼ Assignment home work will be accepted under the following: ❑ At the beginning of the next lecture. ❑ From only students who attended the previous lecture. ◼ Quiz and Oral: ❑ No quizzes nor oral will be repeated at all. ◼ Mid Term Exam: ❑ Mid Term exam can be repeated in a very critical cases for the absence students if they give a formal excuse letter for the absence reason and if I accept this excuse. ❑ The excuse letter should be presented within one week from the date of Mid Term Exam. ❑ The new examination date will be given before final exams. ❑ The new exam will cover more content than the original one. Dr. Ahmed A Ebrahim 4 General Information Lectures ◼ Lectures will be a mix of PPT slides and White board. ◼ The important of having class: ❑ You should come to class because there’s a lot that I’ll say that won’t be in the Power Point files. And which will be on the quizzes and exams ◼ Understanding the ideas of each lecture requires the knowledge of the previous lectures.
If you keep up, you
won’t end up looking like this the night before the quizzes and exams
